About GCST (Global Commercial Services Technology)

Global Commercial Services Technology (GCST) is a strategic technology organization within American Express that enables commercial growth through data‑driven platforms and digital solutions. GCST owns critical capabilities across reporting, insights, payments, reconciliations, and client hierarchy management, and is actively modernizing its data ecosystem to improve scalability, automation, and analytical insights. Data engineers in GCST contribute directly to foundational platforms that support large‑scale commercial products and client experiences worldwide.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 8-10 years of experience in BI Reporting (Micro Strategy), Mainframe, and Cobol.

• Expertise in Micro Strategy development and the full software development life cycle.

• Lead BI design, development, and risk mitigation activities.

• Skilled in complex report development, attributes, facts, metrics, filters, and prompts.

• Proficient with Micro Strategy 10.x and creating report design documents.

• Strong SQL and RDBMS skills.

• Translate business requirements into data analysis and reporting solutions.

• Review designs, code, and testing with the product team.

• Develop data models from multiple sources.

• Experience with Micro Strategy SDK or Java frameworks (Spring, Hibernate) is a plus.

• Familiar with Micro Strategy tools like Object Manager, Command Manager, Developer, and I-server.

• Micro Strategy Certified Developer is a plus.
