The Operational Risk Management (ORM) team facilitates and monitors the implementation of effective operational risk management programs throughout the organization, and oversees risk ownership throughout business units, products, and processes. The objective of the ORM Issues & Events team is to define and maintain the issues and Operational Risk Events (ORE) frameworks and programs across the enterprise.
ORM is looking for a Manager of Issues & Events to be a key part of a diverse team of high-performing professionals focused on ensuring effective operational risk management is embedded in the day-to-day operations of our organization. It will involve extensive collaboration with multiple partners across numerous business units, functional areas, and geographies.
The Ops Risk Manager, Issues & Events will:

Lead the maintenance of Enterprise Operational Risk Event (ORE) & Issue Management Policies and Procedures, ensuring the program is carried out in a timely and accurate manner.

Lead project management deliverables associated with Audit and Regulatory activities as well as execution of MRA findings.
-
Collaborate with Product and Business Transformation teams to define and implement enhancements to systems used in ORE & Issue Management capture and reporting (e.g., Archer, Service Now).
-
Serve as the SME for ORE & Issue Management frameworks governance, ensuring policies, procedures, guidance, communications and trainings align with enterprise standards and regulatory expectations.

Collaborate with first line of defense (1LoD), risk stripes, and cross-functional partners to design effective guidance and solutions that meet business and regulatory needs.

Partner with various 1LOD and 2LOD teams for ORE & Issue Management to develop and impact ongoing training and communication that is consistent and align with the ORE and Issue Management Frameworks

Represent the Framework team in technology-related governance forums; coordinate system releases and stakeholder communications.
Minimum Qualifications:
-
5+ years experience in operational risk management (e.g., within Risk and/or Internal Audit function) and critical operational risk management lifecycle activities.
-
Experience in policy and procedures development and operational risk framework design.
-
Experience in process governance, establishing and overseeing robust decision-making processes that align with policies, regulatory frameworks, and/or operational standards.
-
Experience in operational loss event capture in eGRC tools (e.g., Archer, Service Now), root cause analysis, impact identification, thematic analysis, RCSA alignment, etc.
-
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to analyze data.

Excellent project management skills.
-
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to interact with all colleague levels, including the ability to educate stakeholders in the business on event management.

Strong understanding of the importance of high-quality processes, continuous improvement and best practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
-
3-5 years of experience of working within regulatory frameworks for systemically important banks (e.g., Basel II, Basel III, stress testing and capital adequacy requirements).

Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business, Risk Mgmt., or related field; advanced degrees (e.g., MBA, MSc) or certifications are advantageous

Experience in assisting in Audit and Regulatory activities as well as providing support in the execution of MRA findings
