Global Commercial Services (GCS) is the leading payments provider for businesses and corporations of all sizes, with small business being the largest customer segment and a continued area of investment and focus. The Small Business Marketing Team is responsible for acquisition and customer engagement marketing for all Small Business Charge, Proprietary Lending, and co-brand cards. Within Small Business Marketing, the Small Business Prospect Marketing Team creates best-in-class, integrated prospect experiences to acquire new Cardmembers and accelerate US SME growth.

This Paid Search, Manager role will support paid search strategy and analytics to drive significant customer and revenue growth. He/she will deliver innovative, relevant marketing experiences across the paid search landscape. This role will also be responsible for leading channel reporting and insights generation, managing relationships with internal technology and analytics partners, and identifying and executing on strategic opportunities to grow the Paid Search business.

How will you make an impact in this role?

The role requires strong partner management, analytical and communication skills and involves close collaboration with internal and external partners, including Google, Microsoft, and external agencies, to develop and execute winning performance-marketing tactics that delight prospects and improve conversion.

  • Work with internal & external partners to optimize paid search marketing campaigns with a focus on increasing acquisition scale and AXP revenue
  • Drive acquisition performance by developing a compelling paid search journey, including bidding, keyword, ad copy, and landing page strategies
  • Closely monitor and manage program performance to ensure revenue delivery against forecast
  • Manage targeting and audience strategy for Paid Search, and proactively identify areas for improvement and growth
  • Oversee and develop the growth of a direct report
  • Own channel forecasting, budget and partner invoicing
  • Partner with key members of internal teams, such as Prospect and Customer Marketing teams, Consumer Paid Search, Product Management, Brand, Compliance, Risk and Information Management to identify and develop new areas of program integrations
  • Lead new strategic initiatives for the channel, including expansion opportunities with key partners, new marketing platforms, and integration with other American Express assets

Qualifications:

  • Performance marketing experience is preferred, along with proven ability to develop innovative strategies
  • Ability to lead new digital initiatives and collaborate effectively with cross-functional and external partners to drive results
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, with experience analyzing complex data to draw insights and drive business priorities
  • Highly organized—strong project management skills, attention to detail, and comfort operating autonomously in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong relationship building skills and excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Passion for digital marketing, with ability to identify relevant consumer behavior trends and the impacts of new technology
  • A winning attitude – ideal candidate is a positive, team-oriented individual
  • Paid search experience preferred
  • People leadership experience preferred

Salary Range: $89,250.00 to $150,250.00 annually + bonus + benefits
