The Director, HR Business Partner / Colleague Strategic Partner role will join the Colleague Strategic Partner (CSP) organization at American Express, partnering with senior leaders and teams across the enterprise. In this role, the Director will support one or more business units, providing strategic HR leadership to help enable colleagues who deliver on the American Express brand promise every day. The CSP Director works closely with leaders to drive talent strategy, organizational effectiveness, and colleague experience across a diverse, global workforce.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide high impact consultation and practical, data-driven solutions to business leaders.
  • Partner with business leaders to drive organizational effectiveness and change initiatives, serving as subject-matter expert in how change is led, adopted, and sustained.
  • Create and execute a talent strategy that drives business performance, fosters an agile culture with a strong risk mindset, and builds leaders who can lead, manage, and sustain change, aligned with our leadership behaviors.
  • Lead and drive proactive development, engagement, retention, and succession strategies for critical talent segments.
  • Co-create with key partners to continuously improve the "moments that matter" experience throughout the colleague lifecycle.
  • Design and deliver products, processes, and tools informed by colleague data and insights, co-creating with business leaders and CEG colleagues to ensure solutions meet business needs.
  • Lead and execute end-to-end change efforts in support of key business priorities.

 Minimum Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5+ years of CEG/HR related, or organizational consulting experience.
  • Experience in HR Business Partner related disciplines including but not limited to experience and understanding of consulting, coaching, talent, recruitment, performance, leadership and change management.  
  • Proven success in designing and delivering high-quality, end-to-end, colleague-centric solutions that enable business outcomes.  
  • Strategic thinking: develop ideas that drive meaningful colleague experiences and competitive advantage.  
  • Demonstrated ability to use data to develop insights, make decisions, create solutions, and drive continuous improvement.  

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of multiple HR disciplines, including colleague labor relations, talent management, inclusion and diversity, organizational effectiveness, compensation, and leadership development.  
  • A global mindset and experiences with different countries and cultures.  

Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the U.S. is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions.

Salary Range: $123,000.00 to $215,250.00 annually + bonus + equity (if applicable) + benefits
