How will you make an impact in this role?
Digital acquisition is one of Amex’s top priorities. Core to delivering on this priority are card and banking application and onboarding experiences that enable our customers to apply for our products with the least amount of effort, wherever and however they choose to apply. In addition to an enormous emphasis on users and usability, our team is responsible for card number assignment and fulfillment of new applications while maintaining a frictionless experience. This requires a multi-dimensional approach to the fulfillment of applications we receive through Digital acquisitions as we drive faster approval-to-spend timeframes for existing and new customers.
We are looking for a passionate, talented, and adaptable strategic product manager to own platform fulfillment capabilities that support American Express Enterprise Fulfillment Services.
In this role, you will have the responsibility to create foundational capabilities to accelerate cardmembers' access to spending by creating a fulfillment and servicing ecosystem that is seamless, personalized and ready across every preferred mode.
You will be responsible for:
- Owning, developing, and delivering Card Number Application Platform(CNAP) related strategies and capabilities.
- Shape the platform capabilities to ensure greater reusability, maintainability, scalability to meet global product demand
- Perform research to continuously uncover opportunities and brainstorm new solutions across card, loan, and banking products and across consumer, small business, and corporate customers
- Define and build self-service tools to decrease time to market
- Work with technical leadership to define architecture to solve recurring inefficiencies
- Measure time to market and product team efficiency to understand impact of platform capabilities
- Prioritize feature backlog to ensure that work focuses on the most impactful platform improvements
- Continually stay abreast of new digital platform trends and customer needs and the changing regulatory, competitive, and technological landscape
- Lead the Agile product development process (Lean, SAFe, Kanban) including writing and refining features and user stories, documenting customer and technical flows, and validating software functionality
- People leader to coach, lead and develop high performing Product owner(s)
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a product owner or manager
- Proficient at investigating customer needs and problems
- Robust knowledge of software architectural patterns, systems integration, APIs, and fundamentals of full-stack web development
- Understanding of software performance monitoring and analytics
- Strong ability to analyze user experience metrics and other data to determine priorities, opportunities, and issues with product
- Ability to define and improve processes
- In-depth knowledge of Agile processes and principles: backlog refinement, sprint planning, writing user stories, MVP, sprint demos
- Experience in dealing with ambiguity/unstructured problems, simplifying complex problems, ability to use risk based decisioning frameworks, and influencing teams and stakeholders to drive desired outcomes
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; Ability to effectively communicate across stakeholders.
- Ability to build positive relationships, and influence decisions with a variety of cross-functional stakeholders
- Proven ability to manage change in dynamic, ambiguous environment and ability to influence without direct authority among peers and with leaders
- Influence team members with innovative changes and improvements by challenging status quo and demonstrating risk taking
- Deep understanding of the acquisitions process and particularly the fulfillment platform areas of this process
- Experience with CNAP, EFP a plus
