American Express Global Commercial Services (GCS) is the leading payment card issuer for corporations and small businesses with products and services to help them run and grow their business. Within GCS, the GCS Product Development and Enterprise Solutions team leads product development on a robust portfolio of products and capabilities for our small business and corporate customers. The team also leads product design and research across GCS as well as business development initiatives to support our banking scale.

Are you an experienced Product Manager with a passion for solving complex problems through technology and delivering meaningful value to clients? We are seeking a Manager, Product Development to serve as a tenured Product Manager and thought leader supporting @ Work’s foundational capabilities. This role will focus on evolving and uplifting core platform features, such as status tracking and program hierarchy, that are widely used and deeply integrated across the broader ecosystem. Success in this role requires strong product delivery leadership, an understanding of platform architecture, and the ability to anticipate downstream impacts across interconnected systems.

The ideal candidate is a strong driver with experience launching and scaling digital products in an agile environment. They bring strategic thinking, clear communication, and organizational excellence, along with a proven ability to operate effectively within a matrixed, high-performing environment. The role emphasizes end-to-end product delivery, with exposure to go-to-market activities as we launch global digital experiences, including developing client-facing materials, partnering with compliance, and engaging regularly with key enterprise clients.

Job responsibilities may include:

  • Ownership and accountability of the requirements and delivery of the Product Management experience for GCS customers across multiple products

  • Partner on discovery with business subject matter experts and UX designers to grow revenue, improve customer experience, and differentiate our product

  • Build and manage a product backlog of features and capabilities that are groomed and prioritized in close collaboration with the business and development teams

  • Facilitate resolution of risks, issues, and changes

  • Champion the product vision and roadmap with key stakeholders, Product Owners and engineering teams

  • Participation in and support of agile practices and ceremonies to reinforce agile development and incremental delivery

  • Collect, analyze and take action on customer feedback and sentiment of the digital journeys in your remit

  • Establish the product’s goals and review success metrics to achieve commercial success and develop appropriate tracking and reporting to measure performance post – launch to support evaluation of future investments.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Results-driven mindset with the ability to work under pressure, navigate through ambiguity, and balance multiple priorities in a matrixed corporate environment

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence senior leaders

  • Excellent customer experience intuition; demonstrated success in creating innovative and user-friendly products and customer-facing features

  • A proven track record of driving digital innovation and business metrics with a customer-first mindset

  • Highly organized - you are great at research and documenting your learnings

  • A “driver” personality - constantly pushing toward clarity and delivery while balancing the need for great collaboration

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage, influence, and inspire partners and stakeholders to drive collaboration and alignment

  • Bachelor’s degree

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience as a product owner and/or product manager role

  • PMPO certification or like

  • Demonstrated ability to conceptualize and deliver new platform capabilities, participate in defining specifications, lead conceptual business architecture, collaborate within and across teams on design and delivery, manage project and be able to interpret results

Salary Range: $103,750.00 to $174,750.00 annually + bonus + benefits
