We are looking for a dynamic, energetic Systems Design Engineer to join our growing team. As a key contributor to the success of AMD’s products, you will be part of a leading team to drive and improve AMD’s abilities to deliver the highest quality, industry-leading technologies to market. The Systems Design Engineering team fosters and encourages continuous technical innovation to showcase successes as well as facilitate continuous career development.

THE PERSON: As a Systems Design Engineer, you will drive scalable and automated solutions. In this high visibility position, your systems engineering expertise will be necessary to define products, develop solutions, assess root causes, and produce solution resolutions.

You will also be the primary interface driving strategic technology across multiple engineering teams. The position requires a highly collaborative mindset, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to present to and engage with stakeholders and leaders at various levels.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Own the planning and delivery of different AMD products, through coordination with engineering and other internal and external stakeholders
  • Program manages cross-functional teams, influencing and supervising the overall ecosystem workflow, and forging positive relationships with various teams within and outside of AMD
  • Track the program and provide regular updates on progress, risk, and issues
  • Develop automation tools to increase efficiency
  • Strong documentation and communication skills will be called upon frequently, especially in delivering streamlined, clear, and concise information to cross-functional stakeholders
  • Manage Hardware order and inventory
  • Handling Vendor's HW requirements, following up, and driving the progress of the issues they report

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Programming/scripting skills (e.g., C/C++, Perl, Ruby, Python).

  • Experience with PowerBI, Data Visualization tools, JIRA, Confluence, and Excel an asset

  • Debug techniques and methodologies

  • Experience with common lab equipment, including protocol/logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, etc.

  • Experience with board/platform-level debug, including delivery, sequencing, analysis, and optimization

  • Knowledge of system architecture, technical debug, and validation strategies

  • Experience with data extraction, manipulation, and visualization, using statistical tools such as correlation, predictive modeling, contrast analysis, and Machine Learning, etc.

  • Apply and explore the use of AI in various initiatives and efficiency improvements.

  • Combination of strong technical background with interest in Program/Project Management

  • We welcome fresh graduates or junior candidates

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • BS or MS degree in Industrial Engineering, Information Management or other engineering related
