THE ROLE:The Japan Sales Director, based out of AMDs Tokyo offices, will play a key leadership role within the Japan and Regional Sales Organization. The Japan Commercial & Transformation Director will be focused on driving sales and growing market share for AMD based products across Server, Client, Pro Graphics and Embedded solutions in the local market. The successful applicant will manage the sales team and field resources in Japan and will be responsible for establishing the AMD sales strategy, partnerships and market approach to drive customer relationships and deliver revenue goals. They will achieve these goals through developing, mentoring and leading a high performance sales team. They will partner closely with cross functional internal teams such as Marketing, WW BU and WW account teams to help ensure AMD is well positioned in all sales opportunities. This person will be responsible for developing senior executive relationships within both end customer and partner organizations to place AMD in a strong position in the market to win against the competition and grow share significantly in Japan. In addition to the sales responsibilities, this person will also collaborate across all functions within AMD in Japan and WW working closely with the Japan CVP to drive transformation of the organization to achieve the benefits of One AMD. This will include sales and non-sales functions to drive efficiency of the entire organization. THE PERSON:The successful candidate will enjoy working in a collaborative, fast paced environment and have outstanding leadership skills. This role is ideally suited to a candidate that has a passion for innovation & thought leadership and would be comfortable articulating the AMD value proposition to partners, customers and media alike. The ideal candidate possesses the ability to build relationships within broader Japan IT eco-system and cross-functionally internally, strong executive communication skills, and excellent business process discipline. Strong planning skills and attention to detail is vital for success in this role. Ideally, this person will either have some technical experience in addition to sales or at least have a strong ability to understand technology and how things fit together in the ecosystem at a technical level so as to be able to confidently and accurately articulate AMD’s competitive strength in the market.
