THE ROLE:

We are looking for a System Firmware Engineer with an obsession for firmware. As part of the role, this engineer will work closely with other firmware engineers, developers, and architects across various IPs in documenting, integrating and verifying firmware that spans pre-silicon and post-silicon for AMD Instinct (TM) GPUs.

THE PERSON:

You are passionate about firmware development with creative and effective problem-solving skills, a motivated, self-starter who can work both independently and collaboratively in fast paced environments. You have excellent technical communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide consultation to internal customers regarding AMD Instinct (TM) GPU features and programming requirements
  • Participate in firmware requirement reviews
  • Work with firmware component owners to confirm implementation meets requirement definition
  • Support the debugging of critical severity firmware-centric defects/issues
  • Work with firmware test teams to design system-level integration test cases
  • Support firmware component and integration level automation

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Prior years of experience and/or education within the semiconductor industry
  • Experience with firmware development lifecycle
  • Proficient in structured problem-solving techniques and methodologies

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Engineering (preferred), Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
