Together, we advance your career. THE ROLE: AMD seeks a Communications Specialist to support the Executive Communications Lead for the SVP and GM of the Computing & Graphics Group.
This role will help develop and execute internal and external communications strategies, plans, and deliverables that strengthen employee engagement, reinforce organizational priorities, and amplify executive messaging.
You will be a key contributor to external executive communications and internal employee-facing storytelling – curating timely, relevant content and deploying communications across channels including intranet, email, newsletters, presentations, and executive social media.
You’ll partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders (Corporate Communications, Marketing, Social, Creative, Events, and business leaders) to ensure communication is clear, consistent, and aligned with the executive’s and AMD’s voice and priorities. THE PERSON: The right person is an excellent communicator and strong writer who can keep complex topics simple, compelling, and audience appropriate.
You’re comfortable working at speed, juggling multiple programs at once, and pivoting quickly when priorities shift.
You are also social-media fluent: you understand what performs, how leaders can show up authentically, and how to adapt tone and format for executive social channels while staying aligned to corporate voice and guardrails. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Support the planning and execution of executive communications for the SVP/GM, including talking points, announcements, organizational updates, key messages, and narrative development.
Draft and edit executive and employee communications (emails, intranet posts, exec notes, speeches/talking points, Q&As, presentations) with strong editorial judgment and attention to tone, clarity, and accuracy.
Translate complex business/technical information into clear, audience-tailored messaging.
Develop and manage executive social media content (LinkedIn/X), including calendars, post development, and executive-ready copy.
Drive coordinated amplification across channels (social, employee engagement moments, and other internal/external touchpoints).
Partner with stakeholders to gather inputs, manage feedback, and move reviews/approvals efficiently; track performance and recommend improvements. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Corporate communications, executive communications, and/or internal communications experience in a global company.
Demonstrated social media experience (content creation, editorial calendars, performance tracking; executive social a plus).
Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills; ability to write for different audiences and formats.
Strong organizational and project management skills, including managing competing deadlines and stakeholders. ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: Bachelor’s Degree in Corporate Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Mass Communications or a related communications field.
This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
Benefits offered are described: AMD benefits at a glance. AMD does not accept unsolicited resumes from headhunters, recruitment agencies, or fee-based recruitment services. AMD and its subsidiaries are equal opportunity, inclusive employers and will consider all applicants without regard to age, ancestry, color, marital status, medical condition, mental or physical disability, national origin, race, religion, political and/or third-party affiliation, sex, pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender identity, military or veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
