Grounded in a culture of innovation and collaboration, we believe real progress comes from bold ideas, human ingenuity and a shared passion to create something extraordinary. When you join AMD, you’ll discover the real differentiator is our culture. We push the limits of innovation to solve the world’s most important challenges—striving for execution excellence, while being direct, humble, collaborative, and inclusive of diverse perspectives. Join us as we shape the future of AI and beyond. Together, we advance your career.
THE TEAM
AMD's Data Center GPU organization is transforming the AI and HPC landscape. Our mission is to design and market exceptional products—anchored by our Instinct™ GPU portfolio—that power the next generation of computing in enterprise data centers, cloud, and supercomputing environments. If you’re excited by AI disruption and want to be part of building something big, join us.
THE ROLE:
We are looking for a Senior Software Solutions Engineer to join our AI Customer Engineering organization, supporting the AMD Instinct™ GPU product line.
In this role, you will work directly with enterprise, cloud, and hyperscale customers to design, optimize, and scale their AI workloads on AMD platforms. You will serve as a trusted technical advisor, enabling customers to adopt AMD’s ROCm™ software stack, improve performance, and accelerate deployment timelines. This position provides a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of cutting-edge hardware and AI software, while influencing AMD’s future roadmap through deep customer engagement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Partner with customers to architect and optimize AI solution deployments using AMD Instinct GPUs.
- Automate workload deployment packaging, pipelines, monitoring, and error-handling workflows to reduce overhead and speed up customer time-to-solution.
- Benchmark and validate AI workloads (FP32, FP16, BF16) to demonstrate performance gains and scalability on AMD platforms.
- Deploy and manage workloads across cloud and on-premise environments, integrating AMD ROCm software for maximum efficiency.
- Collaborate with AMD engineering teams and open-source communities to upstream Instinct optimizations and expand adoption.
- Lead customer issue resolution, gathering diagnostics, managing escalations, and driving long-term process improvements.
- Deliver technical documentation, best practices, and reference architectures that make AMD AI platforms easier to adopt and deploy.
- Provide regular technical feedback from the field to influence AMD’s software and hardware roadmap.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- 5-10 years of experience in software solutions engineering, customer engineering, or technical consulting roles.
- Strong programming skills in Python, C++, and BASH for automation and workload optimization.
- Hands-on experience with AI/ML frameworks and GPU workload tuning.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, containers (Docker, Kubernetes), and GPU-based infrastructure.
- Demonstrated success in customer-facing roles, including technical guidance, issue resolution, and adoption support.
- Experience contributing to or leveraging open-source software ecosystems.
- Deep understanding of resolution ticketing systems (JIRA)
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
LOCATION
Santa Clara, California or Austin, Texas Preferred.
