We are seeking an experienced Technical Program Manager with deep expertise in AI/ML technologies to drive the development and delivery of AMD’s next-generation AI and machine learning solutions.
This role sits at the intersection of hardware, software, and AI—requiring strong technical fluency, analytical rigor, and the ability to navigate a complex, cross-functional organization.
You will be instrumental in accelerating AMD’s AI strategy across silicon, software platforms, and customer engagements. THE ROLE: As a Technical Program Manager for AI/ML, you will partner with engineering, product management, and business teams to define and execute the roadmap for AMD’s AI/ML accelerator platforms and software ecosystems.
You will manage end-to-end program execution from strategy through delivery, ensuring alignment between AMD’s AI product solutions and customer platform requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITES Define, plan, and drive end-to-end AI/ML product and platform programs from inception through delivery, ensuring on-time execution against roadmap milestones Own cross-functional program execution across hardware, software, and AI/ML teams in a matrix organization, managing dependencies and resolving conflicts Drive and influence technical and product strategy for AI/ML initiatives; proactively identify risks, develop mitigation strategies, and align stakeholders on priorities Partner with silicon, software, and systems engineering teams to ensure AI/ML workload optimization across AMD’s GPU, CPU, and accelerator portfolio Help define the long-term roadmap and strategy for AI/ML platform teams, identifying new opportunities for differentiation and customer impact Design and track program metrics and KPIs to measure impact, drive accountability, and improve internal execution processes Communicate program status, technical requirements, goals, and milestones to stakeholders at all levels, including executive leadership Collaborate with customer-facing teams to understand AI/ML platform requirements, translate them into engineering deliverables, and ensure customer satisfaction throughout the product lifecycle Create and maintain program management artifacts including schedules, resource plans, risk/issue logs, and dashboards for recurring status reporting Initiate process improvements across AI/ML development workflows to increase team velocity and program predictability PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline 8+ years of experience in software engineering, hardware engineering, systems engineering, or technical program/product management 3+ years of experience driving complex AI/ML technology programs or products from inception to delivery Demonstrated ability to define strategic direction, identify opportunities for impact, and influence technical and business leadership Strong knowledge of AI/ML concepts including model training, inference optimization, and ML development workflows
Experience: operating independently across multiple teams and functions in a large, matrixed organization Proven track record of executive-level communication and the ability to influence cross-functional leadership teams Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in large-scale systems
Experience: establishing effective working relationships across multi-disciplinary teams and partners in different time zones Academic Credentials Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
Phd is a plus Formal project management education (PMP / Scrum Master) is a plus LOCATION: San Jose, California
