AMD is seeking a specialized Software Engineer who is passionate about optimizing the performance of key applications and benchmarks. As a member of our core team of talented industry specialists, you will work with the latest hardware and software technologies.
THE PERSON: We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about software engineering and demonstrates strong leadership skills to drive complex issues to resolution. The ideal candidate communicates effectively and collaborates seamlessly with teams across AMD.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with AMD’s architecture specialists to enhance future products.
- Apply a data-driven approach to identify and execute optimization opportunities.
- Stay current with software and hardware trends, especially in algorithms and architecture.
- Design and develop innovative AMD technologies.
- Participate in new ASIC and hardware bring-ups.
- Debug and resolve existing issues, and research more efficient solutions.
- Build and maintain technical relationships with peers and partners.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Strong background in Embedded Software development, object-oriented programming, preferably in C/C++
- Proven ability to write high-quality, detail-oriented code.
- Experience with modern concurrent programming and threading APIs.
- Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating system development.
- Knowledge of software development tools and processes, such as debuggers, source code control systems (e.g., GitHub), and profilers.
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
