This position is part of a central organization responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining automation frameworks and tools that support Client, Graphics, and Semi-Custom teams. The role focuses on helping internal engineers optimize resources and improve overall efficiency.

THE PERSON: We are seeking a highly skilled Automation Development Engineer to join our team at AMD. This role requires close collaboration with various post-silicon validation teams to design and develop robust automation frameworks and related tools that streamline validation processes. The ideal candidate will also work closely with global team members to drive project progress and ensure alignment across regions.

The successful candidate will be responsible for building scalable automation solutions, prototyping new tools, and integrating frameworks into existing workflows. They should be capable of leading technical discussions, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality solutions. Strong communication skills are essential to articulate technical concepts clearly and foster collaboration in a global environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, validation engineers, and team members to gather automation requirements, translate requirements into technical solutions, and provide clear technical communication and status updates.
• Design, develop, test and deploy automation framework/end-to-end web/desktop applications using full-stack skills such as Python, C#, ASP.NET Core, and front-end frameworks (React / Blazor), ensuring high code quality and performance.
• Follow Git workflows (branching, merging, pull requests) and collaborate effectively with the global development team.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps/GitHub Actions) to automate build, test, and deployment processes, reducing manual effort and improving release velocity.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across the application stack (backend, frontend, cloud infrastructure, databases) and drive continuous improvement of existing systems.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• 5+ years of relevant experience in semiconductor / post-silicon development.
• Professional skills in Python.
• Strong experience in full-stack development with modern back-end development (using C# and ASP.NET) and front-end development like React / Blazor.
• Hands-on experience with Azure Cloud services (App Service, Azure DevOps, SQL Database, Storage, Key Vault) and cloud architecture principles.
• Proficient in Git workflows, CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions).
• Proficient in docker and docker compose, with a solid understanding of container orchestration fundamentals like Kubernetes.
• Strong expertise in relational database technologies such as MSSQL and related platforms.
• Familiar with PowerShell and Linux shell scripts.
• Fluent in English speaking and writing.
• Excellent cross-departmental communication and collaboration skills and strong problem-solving skills.
• Experience in v Sphere, Nutanix, ADSL, Linux kernel virtualization, IPV4, IPV6 Networking, Load balancing, PVE is preferable.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

• Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Computer Science or Engineering preferred
