Join us as we shape the future of AI and beyond.  Together, we advance your career.THE ROLE:
As part of AMD’s Datacenter engineering organization, the Product Definition team is responsible for defining final product configurations that meet performance, power, and yield objectives for our server So Cs.

THE PERSON: We are looking for a highly experienced, self‑driven technical leader to own product definition outcomes, drive post‑silicon power‑management debug, and lead manufacturing characterization analysis to guide SKU fuse decisions.

This role requires deep technical expertise, strong analytical capability, and the ability to work independently while influencing cross‑functional teams across silicon design, firmware, platform engineering, and manufacturing.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead product definition for server-class So Cs, including final fuse strategy and SKU configuration decisions
  • Drive post‑silicon debug for power‑management and performance‑limiting issues, ensuring risks are identified and closed
  • Analyze manufacturing characterization data (power, leakage, performance, correlation) to validate readiness for product definition
  • Align with architecture, silicon design, firmware/BIOS, platform, and manufacturing teams to ensure product-level requirements are met
  • Develop recommendations based on silicon behavior, characterization results, and power‑performance analysis
  • Provide technical leadership in cross-functional forums by calling out risks, proposing solutions, and driving execution to closure
  • Operate independently with minimal coaching, demonstrating strong ownership and decision‑making ability

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • 15–20+ years of experience in SoC post‑silicon validation, product engineering, or power‑management enablement
  • Deep understanding of server‑class CPU architecture, power‑management flows, and silicon characterization
  • Strong debug skills at SoC, firmware, and platform levels
  • Experience with data correlation across ATE, lab characterization, and HVM data
  • Proficiency in scripting/programming languages (Python, C/C++, etc.) for analysis and automation
  • Ability to influence without authority and communicate technical risks clearly
  • Demonstrated ability to ramp quickly and operate as an independent technical driver

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.

LOCATION: Penang, Malaysia
