Together, we advance your career.MTS SOFTWARE SYSTEM DESIGN ENGINEERTHE ROLE: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated System Validation Engineer** to join our Systems Design Engineering team. This role focuses on validating complex software stacks and hardware-software interactions in next-generation platforms. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Linux VFIO, memory management, IO MMU, and PCIe, DMA driver development, along with strong proficiency in C programming and **operating system concepts.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design and develop validation strategies for software stack components, including V4L2, memory manager, IO MMU, and Gstreamer
• Develop and maintain Linux kernel modules and user-space drivers for Multimedia components like ISP, video encoders and Display subsystem.
• Collaborate with architecture and design teams to understand system-level requirements and translate them into validation plans.
• Build and evolve next-generation validation suites to support automated and scalable testing of complex SoC platforms.
• Debug and root-cause issues across hardware and software boundaries using tools like JTAG, logic analysers, and kernel debuggers.
• Contribute to continuous integration and regression infrastructure for validation workflows.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• Product development or systems engineering background with hardware platforms and their software & firmware ecosystems

• Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation skills

• Excellent interpersonal, organisational, analytical, planning, and technical leadership skills

• Proven record of accomplishment in delivering large multi-functional product solutions
  6+ years of experience in system validation or embedded software development.
  Strong hands-on experience with:

  • *V4L2 subsystem and Gstreamer applications
  • *Memory management and IO MMU
  • *Multimedia driver development (ISP, video encoder and decoders and display subsystem)
  • *C programming and OS internals
    Familiarity with Linux kernel development and debugging.
    Experience with validation frameworks and scripting (Python, Bash, etc.).
    Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

• Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering or equivalent
