We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to develop a deep understanding of the Prime Video customer, their behavior & motivations, and their drivers of content consumption. Prime Video is changing the way people watch movies and TV shows, offering thousands of new release movies, next-day television shows, classic favorites and the latest Amazon Originals, available to customers with an Amazon Prime or Prime Video subscription. This includes popular and award-winning Amazon originals available for no additional charge.
Amazon is seeking a Business Analyst, to support the Prime Video marketing, product and marketplace teams, by identifying customer content preferences, identifying and collecting relevant data from internal and external sources, helping build frameworks for evaluation of Prime Video’s marketing campaign performance on acquisitions and engagement, and by providing the analytical horsepower for decisions related to our marketing investments. With Prime Video’s planned investments in content and the highly competitive streaming landscape, it is mission critical for Prime Video to define the right targeting and engagement strategy, based on deep customer understanding and data analysis, that can deliver customer delight and business outcomes.
The Business Analyst is expected to work across teams and functions, including Content Programming, Business Intelligence, Customer Insights & Research, Marketing and Finance. Success in this role will require an ability to influence and align stakeholders, including Prime Video leadership, through use of 1P & 3P data and insights. To accomplish this, the candidate must have prior experience of quantitative analytical tools in a consumer internet company (including e-commerce, digital media or consultancy roles focused on the consumer internet).
In addition to strong analytical skills, the ideal candidate is expected to be a critical thinker with keen attention to detail, an ability to juggle multiple priorities, and must not be afraid to get hands-on, as needed. The candidate must have an ability to think clearly, communicate concisely in written and verbal form, and a willingness to go beyond his/her direct sphere of responsibility to solve customer and business challenges.
- Key job responsibilities
- Use internal data sources to develop the Prime Video teams’ understanding of customer behaviour
- Establish and own analysis frameworks for Prime Video’s acquisition and engagement program
- Own the design, development and maintenance of Prime Video service level metrics, dashboards, reports, etc. to socialize performance across internal stakeholders.
- Perform India specific deep dives – opportunity sizing, viewership analysis, and deepening customer engagement
- Understand trends related to customer’s internal consumption and recommend strategies & opportunity areas to Prime Video leadership to help drive business growth.
- Benchmark performance against 3P industry data and IC offerings.
- Understand Amazon’s core business values and leadership principles, and apply these in day to day processes. Communicate roadblocks to stakeholders and propose solutions
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- 5+ years of Excel (including VBA, pivot tables, array functions, power pivots, etc.) and data visualization tools such as Tableau experience
- 3+ years of business or financial analysis experience
- Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights
- Experience making business recommendations and influencing stakeholders
- Experience with Excel
- Experience with tools/systems to analyze data including Excel, Access, SQL or other data management systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, engineering , analytics, mathematics, statistics or a related technical or quantitative field
- Experience formulating and solving predictive modeling, machine learning, forecasting or statistical modeling problems
- Knowledge of digital video landscape
