Lead the future of security automation at Amazon by building and directing teams that leverage agentic AI systems to protect one of the world's largest technology ecosystems. You'll be at the forefront of developing proactive autonomous security capabilities that safeguard Amazon's infrastructure, customers, and innovations at global scale.

  • Key job responsibilities
  • Lead and grow a team of software engineers developing AI-powered security automation solutions.
  • Own the technical vision and architecture for next-generation security products.
  • Drive strategic technical decisions in partnership with senior leadership.
  • Establish and maintain high standards for engineering excellence and operational performance.
  • Collaborate across Amazon's ecosystem to deliver security solutions that scale with our business.
  • Mentor and develop engineering talent while building a strong technical culture.

A day in the life
Strategic Leadership (Morning):
Lead global team stand-ups and align daily priorities
Review security metrics and operational health
Drive critical technical decisions and architecture reviews

Stakeholder Management (Mid-day):
Collaborate with product and business leaders on roadmap
Partner with cross-functional teams on integration initiatives
Provide mentorship through 1:1s with team members

Technical & Innovation Focus (Afternoon):
Guide implementation of AI/ML security solutions
Ensure technical excellence through code reviews
Drive strategic planning and resource optimization

The role balances technical leadership, people management, and strategic planning while working across global time zones to deliver innovative security solutions for Amazon.

Basic Qualifications

  • Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
  • Experience in leading the definition and development of multi tier web services
  • Experience working directly within engineering teams
  • Experience managing engineers
  • Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
  • Experience partnering with product and program management teams
  • Experience in engineering

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
  • Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
