We're hiring a Sr Business Transformation Expert to drive automation culture and deliver efficiency savings across Finance Operations (Fin Ops) Shared Services.
FIn Ops has extensive vendor payment operations activities for our vendors across the Globe. The WW Finance operations at Hyderabad commenced in 2005 and has grown steadily in its size and scope into a dynamic and large team. The 5000+ member team at Hyderabad, Pune, Manila, Costa Rica, Bratislava and China handle WW Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Payroll transactions and play a key role in smooth functioning of overall Amazon businesses. This position will mainly support both AP and AR related processes for all major businesses of Amazon, which comprises of 100+ unique services. The amount of money that is managed by the function is over $200Billion per year.

Position description
This role will reduce manual processing time through automation, enabling the operations teams to scale without proportional headcount growth.
This role is an Individual contributor role who should be able to do hands on development for small -medium complex automation using various technologies while managing the end-to-end project life cycle from requirements gathering- code development–information security reviews–User Acceptance Testing and finalization. Also includes the change management process and issue resolution.

Must Have:
Bachelor's in Computer Science, IT, or related field + 5 years automation experience.
Proficiency in 2+ of: Python, SQL, VBA, Alteryx, Power Automate.
Experience delivering end-to-end automation projects.
Good communication skills for cross-timezone collaboration.

Highly Preferred:
Master's degree in quantitative field
Finance/Shared Services automation experience
AWS services experience (specify which: Lambda, S3, Glue)
Scrum/Agile delivery experience

Nice to Have:

BI tools (Power BI, Tableau)
AI/ML integration experience

  • Key job responsibilities
  • Engineer small-scale automations utilizing a range of tools like Excel VBA, Alteryx, SQL, ETL, SSIS, AWS, and Python.
  • Engage with business departments to provide automations that comply with the ACES SSA governance structure and information security directives.
  • Work with various business teams spread across different locations and time zones as per the requirements of the project.
  • Deliver targets for efficiency savings through automation projects.
  • Learn and develop automations combining the usage of Artificial Intelligence tools available on Amazon and other technologies.
  • Provide periodic project updates, including major successes/challenges, to senior management.
  • Design and implement mechanisms to improve automation culture by partnering with ACES team members and other Robotics Process Automations (RPA) and other automation teams.
  • Coach and mentor the new developers in delivering automation projects and develop skill sets.

A day in the life

The daily responsibilities include:
Morning agenda: Stakeholder meetings, code reviews, and urgent issue resolution.
Midday: Focus on software development for two to three active initiatives.
Afternoon: Analyze automation performance metrics, address emergent problems, and finalize information security assessments.

About the team
FGBS ACES, established in 2011, is comprised of ~55 process improvement experts (Black Belts, Master Black Belts, Lean experts and data specialists) whose core competencies include: Value stream mapping, Root Cause Analysis, Data Analysis, Process Design, light automations and Change Management. This global team spans nine countries and is structured along Fin Ops verticals (i.e., Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivables, and Payroll) and business channels (i.e., AWS, Advertising, Stores, Healthcare etc.).

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience
  • 5+ years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience
  • Bachelor's degree in BI, finance, engineering, statistics, computer science, mathematics, finance or equivalent quantitative field
  • Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLook Ups) at an advanced level and SQL
  • Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements
  • Experience managing accounting/finance process improvement and/or technology projects with aggressive schedules
  • Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization
  • Experience in driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree
  • Experience of Six Sigma/ Lean analytical techniques
  • Experience in program or project management
