Amazon is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to lead the Competitive Insights and Cost Optimization charters. This role combines strategic financial analysis, competitive intelligence, and cost management to drive data-driven decision-making and operational efficiency across the organization.

As a Finance Manager at Amazon, you will partner with senior leadership to deliver actionable insights through benchmarking studies, identify cost optimization opportunities, and influence strategic business decisions. Key Responsibilities:

Financial Benchmarking & Competitive Intelligence

• Lead comprehensive benchmarking studies across various business areas to understand Amazon's competitive positioning
• Analyze industry trends, competitor performance, and market dynamics to provide strategic insights
• Develop frameworks and methodologies for ongoing competitive insights and identify further areas for analysis
• Partner with business leaders to identify key metrics and performance indicators for benchmarking
• Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership to inform strategic planning

Cost Optimization & Efficiency

• Drive cost reduction and cost avoidance initiatives across assigned business areas
• Develop and implement cost management frameworks and monitoring systems
• Partner with cross-functional teams to design and execute cost-saving initiatives
• Track and report on cost optimization progress against plans.

Basic Qualifications

• 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
• 6+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
• 6+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience
• 6+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience
• CA or MBA with 5+ years of finance experience

Preferred Qualifications

• 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
• 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience
• MBA, or CPA
• Knowledge of SQL/ETL
• Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
• Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results
