We are currently seeking a Business Affairs Executive that will provide support across all of the scripted, unscripted and features deals in Spain.

You will support discussions related to writers, producers, cast, production companies and other related deals and will work closely with Studio legal affairs and production issues as they arise. You will have a demonstrated ability to interact with agents, managers and outside attorneys and be able to efficiently communicate status and tradeoffs with other members of the Amazon MGM Studios team including Creative, Production, Marketing, Accounting, Finance, and Legal, as well as executives outside of Amazon MGM Studios.

  • Key job responsibilities
  • Applying your comprehensive working knowledge of television industry agreements, guild regulations, contract law and intellectual property rights (as applicable to the entertainment industry) to support drafting, negotiating, communicating (written and verbal) with our external partners.
  • Using your excellent organizational skills you will be able to collaborate with colleagues in the department and across the studio to build strong internal client relationships.
  • Advising senior-level executives under time-sensitive conditions related to our projects
  • Working with clientele through clear thinking and risk analysis to generate satisfaction in our deals.

Basic Qualifications

  • A Spanish qualified lawyer (Grado en Derecho and Máster de Acceso a la Abogacía).
  • Relevant industry post-qualification experience in intellectual property within the media sector (whether in-house or at a legal firm specialized in audiovisual law).
  • Experience with complex commercial agreements (underlying rights, work-for-hire productions, co-productions, licenses, distribution) and talent agreements (authors, writers, directors, actors, producers) with a solid understanding of legal terminology and reasoning.
  • Experience in the entertainment sector, representing or working for a media law firm, film or television production company, studio or network.
  • Experience with the entertainment industry, customs, and practices.
  • Written and Verbal fluency in Spanish and English required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • LLM (Masters of Laws) in Intellectual Property and/or Media Law.
  • Understanding of media business models.
  • Ability to understand and devise new business models.
  • Experience in streaming deal making.
  • Deep interest in technology and innovation.
  • Other European languages will be a plus.
