Amazon Leo is looking for an experienced, self-starter Business Development Professional to drive adoption of Amazon Leo with airlines and aviation-related businesses. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the definition and execution of the Amazon Leo Business Development pipeline around the world.

Key job responsibilities
Prospect and close business with airlines. Develop a pipeline, visit customers, provide a vision of the future and help airlines understand the benefits of Amazon.
Be customer obsessed. Think on behalf of the customer and work to meet the customer’s stated and unstated needs and aspirations
Execute strategic and tactical business development initiatives while working with key internal stakeholders (e.g., product and engineering teams, legal, finance) and BD team colleagues.
Be the internal coordinator supporting complex contract negotiations and complex business requirements and activities that deliver results.

A day in the life
Airlines have diverse requirements that drive diverse solutions. This job is about creativity and finding novel ways to solve airline challenges, while living within the boundaries of our tools and resources. Our job is to make the lives of the colleague-stakeholders around us a little easier. That could be Finance, Legal, Tax, Engineering or anyone else. We do that by translating and interpreting our client’s needs. We are excellent at bringing our colleague-stakeholders into the discussion and helping them learn the ways of our clients. We want them to become guardians of our clients, just as we are. We write proposals, lead airline workshops, speak publicly in front of large groups and represent Amazon’s global goodness. We make “follow up” our business; taking time during a busy day to evaluate critical data points and develop strategies and tactics is important. As is the process of codifying these decisions and their outcomes.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or above
  • You have 7+ years of experience with inflight connectivity, entertainment, interiors or a related field, with knowledge of commercial and technical issues surrounding implementation.
  • You have 7+ years of developing, negotiating and executing business agreements.
  • Experience developing strategies that influence leadership decisions at the organizational level. You are adept at thinking strategically and analytically about business priorities, product, and technical challenges, with the ability to deliver target based results working cross-organizationally.
  • Professional maturity; the ability to read a room and know when to accelerate or brake, depending on the circumstances of the discussion.
  • You possess excellent written and verbal communications including a passion for writing detailed strategic documents and a preference for a second fluent spoken language.
  • Must be able to articulate business value & technical approach.

  • Consistently exceeds key performance metrics and delivers results.
  • Proven capability to drive consensus across multiple internal and external stakeholders.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments, restricted stock units (RSUs), and sales incentives. Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon also offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, Basic Life & AD&D insurance and option for Supplemental life plans, EAP, Mental Health Support, Medical Advice Line, Flexible Spending Accounts, Adoption and Surrogacy Reimbursement coverage), 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
