Are you experienced in driving operational excellence? Data Center Capacity Delivery Commissioning (DCCD Cx) is looking for an exceptional individual to join our Commissioning organization as the Commissioning Coordinator. As a Commissioning Coordinator, you will provide operational and procurement support. You will support procurement of services, funding request, budget forecast, vendor management and manage knowledge database. Your efforts will support intelligent teams of commissioning professionals to deliver data center capacity across Amazon's growing business in APAC. You will utilize business acumens to identify inefficiencies in workflows, using artificial intelligence and automation to streamline day-to-day operations in globally. Working backwards from our customers, we innovate and are committed to deliver customer satisfaction, delivering faster with improved quality without compromising safety.

Key job responsibilities

  • Operational Excellence

  • Identify gaps, measure inefficiencies/impact, propose actions, measure success and iterate

  • Identifying gaps and creating system SOPs to drive efficiencies and eliminate non-value-add activities, removing blockers, and driving automation

  • Implement and communicate change management

  • Develop and manage document repositories, and knowledge database

  • Financial Coordination

  • Manage end-to-end project finances workflows and procurement

  • Report project variance and identify root cause of cost escalations

  • Project Support

  • Set up projects submittals and inspections mechanism

  • Report safety, quality, financial, resourcing metrics

  • Manage suppliers and supplier business reviews

A day in the life
You will use experience and understand technologies available to streamline existing workflows, apply project management skills to triage, prioritize, manage and deliver cross functional teams requests. You will work backwards from customers and stakeholders, and incorporate their context into workflows. You will define and clarify business procedures and process requirements. You will help the team and stakeholders reach consensus through productive discussions and time-bound deliverables. Your verbal and written style are clear, concise and timely. You will prioritize to meet timelines and relentlessly seek efficiencies, asking how do you know your customers are satisfied?

About the team
The AWS Data Center Capacity Delivery Commissioning Team (DCCD Cx) is an independent critical infrastructure validations team within the Data Centre Capacity Delivery (DCCD) organization. This team of professional Electrical Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, Controls Engineers, Project Managers, Operators and seasoned Amazonians are uniquely positioned to provide deeply detailed engineering and operational review and testing of equipment designs, operational functionality and construction practices. We are focused on ensuring the rapid delivery of a quality product while maintaining full transparency, recording metrics of manufacturer/contractor/equipment issues in new builds and upgrade projects, whilst identifying opportunities for all our peers and customers.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • 2+ years of program or project management experience
  • Experience running an effective operational excellence program
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Experience prioritizing and handling multiple assignments at any given time while maintaining commitment to deadlines, or experience completing complex tasks quickly with little to no guidance and react with appropriate urgency to situations that require a quick turnaround
  • Experience scripting in Python or Javascript
  • Proven business acumen, learning new businesses, taking ownership of problems, navigating ambiguity solutions and asking the right questions for operational excellence
