We are seeking an experienced Technical Program Manager to join our Silk Browser development team. Silk is Amazon's high-performance web browser optimized for Fire TV and other Amazon devices running on VegaOS and FireOS platforms. In this role, you will drive complex, cross-functional programs that enhance browser performance, stability, and user experience across our embedded device environments.
As a Technical Program Manager, you will partner with software development and program management teams across our India and US locations. In this role, you'll serve as a strategic problem solver who bridges organizational boundaries, engaging with key stakeholders to gather requirements and driving execution across Amazon's expanding device portfolio. You'll deliver customer value by orchestrating feature development with cross-functional teams.
Key job responsibilities

  • Program Management
  • Lead end-to-end program execution for Silk browser features and improvements across Vega

OS and FireOS platforms:

  • Define program scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with engineering, product, and design teams
  • Develop and track detailed project plans, timelines, and resource allocation strategies
  • Identify and mitigate risks, dependencies, and blockers across multiple workstreams
  • Drive alignment across distributed teams and stakeholders
  • Facilitate program meetings with clear agendas, drive discussions to actionable conclusions, document meeting minutes, and track action items to completion
  • Technical Leadership
  • Partner with engineering teams on complex technical challenges including feature delivery, release planning, bug triage and investigation
  • Translate technical requirements into actionable program plans and vice versa
  • Make data-driven decisions using metrics, crash analytics, and performance benchmarks
  • Lead team retrospectives focused on extracting key learnings and insights, then integrate process improvements into development workflows
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with QA teams to ensure comprehensive testing on target devices
  • Coordinate with platform teams on OS-level integrations and optimizations
  • Collaborate with product management to prioritize features and bug fixes
  • Communicate program status, risks, and outcomes to senior leadership
  • Build strong relationships with partner teams across Amazon
    About the team
    Silk is Amazon's custom web browser designed for Fire TV and other Amazon devices. Built on Chromium, Silk is optimized for the unique constraints of embedded device environments, delivering fast, reliable web experiences on television screens and multimodal devices. Our team focuses on feature development, performance optimization and seamless integration with Amazon's device ecosystem.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of technical product or program management experience
  • 5+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or equivalent
  • 3+ years of software development experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
  • Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
  • Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership
  • Experience with web browser technologies, web rendering engines, or Chromium-based projects
