Amazon Fresh Private Brands team is looking for an exceptionally talented and motivated Manager, Vendor Management who will lead sourcing and commercial negotiations for several categories under the by Amazon brand.
You will have accountability for the business results of your product subcategories, and will lead a team of 4-5 vendor managers to achieve your goals. Your direct responsibility will be to manage performance of the product portfolio, including developing and growing vendor relationships, expanding product selection and vendor base, leading negotiations, setting category strategy, driving sales and margin improvements, and creating best-in-class customer experiences.
The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills and customer experience intuition, as well as business and product sense combined with solid understanding of technical concepts. You must be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities. High judgment, ability to influence, analytical talent, exceptional communications, and leadership are essential to success in this role.
- Key job responsibilities
- Oversee cost lines in the P&L, primarily focussing on sourcing cost, NetPPM and Shrink.
- Directly lead commercial negotiations with a few, key strategic vendors and act as an escalation point for vendors managed by the team.
- Build mechanisms for the team to improve vendor engagement, joint business plans whilst also anticipating vendor attrition and identifying contingency plans.
- Find out-of-the-box/ creative solutions to omni-channel sourcing related challenges faced by vendors and Amazon.
- Deliver ambitious new product development goals that include Pan-EU, omni-channel sourcing and selling.
- Influence a wide array of cross-functional stakeholders across different VP organisations to deliver results.
Basic Qualifications
- Experience in team management
- Experience in account management, project/program management, or buying
- Experience with vendor negotiations, pricing and promotion or inventory management
- Experience driving internal cross-team collaboration
- Experience driving direction and alignment with cross-functional teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using data to influence business decisions
- Experience in one or more of the following industries: grocery, CPG, retail manufacturing environments, healthcare, and customer-facing / customer-service environments
