Amazon is seeking a highly analytical, meticulous and forward-thinking Senior Staff Accountant to become a key member of Finance Operations Accounting and Analysis (FOAA) based in Beijing. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with Amazon corporate accounting teams across APAC to ensure high quality and timely deliverables in the statutory and financial compliance space. Strong organizational skills and information technology aptitude.
Key job responsibilities
1. Support the Management in all aspects of financial accounting, reporting systems, procedures and policies;
2. Make sure the proper reconciliation of accounts, resolve and close open items on time;
3. Lead projects that contribute to the team's overall efficiency;
4. Analyze data provided by variant tools and systems for internally financial analysis, reporting and documentation;
5. Play an important role in promoting systems/process development within department to ensure ongoing efficiency and control improvements;

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science)
  • 5+ years of finance or a related analytical field experience
  • Experience with SQL and advanced Excel
  • Experience in creating process improvements with automation and analysis, or experience in identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes
  • Fluent in business English, both verbal and written

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA, or CPA
  • 4+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
  • Knowledge of Tableau
  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
