Amazon Logistics (AMZL) is changing the way we interact with customers around the globe every single day and solving some of the biggest logistical challenges facing not just Amazon, but the entire industry.

In order to meet the needs of millions of customers worldwide in an environment where speed is of the essence, we are consistently looking for the next breakthrough or innovation which will disrupt the delivery business and enable a step change in the way millions of customers get their orders.

If the notion of leading engineering projects amongst the world’s brightest talent to full potential excites you; if the idea of using ground-breaking technologies to develop last mile logistics systems in the multi-national juggernaut that is Amazon has your attention, then keep reading.

Are you an innovative leader that wants to design the next generation of world-class equipment for delivery stations? Do you want a high level of ownership in solving complex problems? If so, we have the job for you!

The WW Equipment Engineering Innovation team is searching for a solutions-oriented Hardware Validation & Systems Engineer to establish and lead the testing, validation, and reliability foundations for current and next-generation delivery station equipment. This is a unique opportunity at a critical juncture in Amazon’s growth to define how hardware is validated at scale, work closely with global suppliers to raise design and manufacturing capability, and drive internal and external quality and risk-reduction mechanisms.

This role is validation-led but intentionally broad in scope. In addition to owning test strategy and execution, you will contribute to equipment development, supplier readiness, quality investigations, and systems-level engineering decisions as foundational processes are built across the organization.

To be successful in this role, you will need to influence and work with senior leaders across multiple organizations and geographies. You will partner closely with Worldwide (WW) Engineering and Design, WW Tech SMEs, Last Mile Delivery, Operations, and external suppliers to innovate at scale and enable safe, reliable equipment deployment across the AMZL network.

You will work with a team of highly skilled and highly engaged engineers in a fast-paced and often ambiguous environment. Our team operates across medium- and long-term horizons, driving incremental and step-change innovation in equipment, standards, and engineering processes. You will be challenged, you will learn, and you will work on high-impact, high-visibility programs.

Key job responsibilities
Act as the WW technical owner for hardware validation and reliability strategy for delivery station equipment, including taking a leading role in equipment testing and validation.

Apply systems thinking and risk-based methodologies (e.g., FMEA-driven validation) to assess hardware reliability, failure modes, and design tradeoffs across the full product lifecycle.

Define and standardize mechanical test methodologies (fatigue, lifecycle, load, vibration, misuse, environmental) aligned to real-world operational conditions.

Translate operational usage and risk into effective lab, pilot, and field validation plans, including accelerated and destructive testing.

Review, approve, and technically challenge supplier-generated test plans, validation reports, and reliability data.

Lead and govern external test vendors performing validation on behalf of Amazon.

Define validation metrics, acceptance criteria, and documentation standards for NPI and sustaining programs.

Act as a validation and risk expert in design, architecture, and supplier readiness reviews.

Build structured plans to take equipment from concept through assessment, pilot, validation, and global expansion.

Support failure investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action activities as needed.

Partner with Supplier Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, Design, and Operations to close gaps between design intent, test results, and production reality.

Create and maintain documentation such as validation standards, test plans, test reports, release criteria, and lessons learned repositories.

Contribute to internal engineering process innovation, including building scalable validation systems and governance models.

Up to 50% regional and WW travel depending on business needs.
