The Creators organization at Amazon is seeking an experienced Software Development Manager to lead one of our core engineering teams and help reimagine social shopping. We own the Associates and Influencer programs across Amazon, with a mission to become Earth's most desired destination for commerce creators worldwide and their content. As we scale rapidly, we must continually innovate to define and build new ways to compensate and reward our creators—from capturing creator-driven events and applying the right incentives, to orchestrating earnings systems and ensuring timely, accurate payouts while maintaining compliance standards.
As a Software Development Manager, you will lead an engineering team that designs, develops, tests, and deploys customer-facing technology products. This role requires deep technical expertise, excellent leadership skills, and strong business judgment. You'll be responsible for globally deployed services that deliver exceptional customer experiences while solving broad industry challenges.

Key job responsibilities
As an experienced Software Development Manager with proven leadership expertise, you will:
- Lead end-to-end architecture, design, implementation, support, and evaluation of technology-focused tools and services
- Provide leadership and innovation in designing and implementing services that enable new products, leveraging your deep technical expertise
- Evaluate complex business and technical requirements, communicating inherent risks and solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders using strong business acumen
- Serve as the primary point of contact for project deliverables, managing expectations, priorities, technologies, and technical decisions across cross-functional teams
- Establish consistent project management processes, standards, and guidelines across program-wide initiatives
- Hire, develop, and manage high-performing engineering teams effectively with a results-oriented mindset
- Thrive in high-ambiguity environments, balancing technical and business priorities while driving customer impact at scale

Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of engineering team management experience
- 7+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience
- 3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon also offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, Basic Life & AD&D insurance and option for Supplemental life plans, EAP, Mental Health Support, Medical Advice Line, Flexible Spending Accounts, Adoption and Surrogacy Reimbursement coverage), 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
