We are looking for a Human Resources leader to join our Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud Sales Center (CSC) Human Resources team as the Sr. HR Business Partner. This role will support our customer-facing operations and service delivery teams.
In this position, you will help business leaders develop and execute people priorities that drive business outcomes while fostering a strong employee experience. This role provides an opportunity to work across the employee lifecycle, leveraging strong generalist and HR program management skills. We are looking for a seasoned professional who will partner with business leaders on strategic people initiatives, and implement and optimize HR programs and processes, and can diagnose issues and influence long-term solutions and outcomes.
You must be able to collaborate across groups, influence at all levels of the organization, and build and execute projects and initiatives. You should be comfortable rolling up your sleeves and engaging on a hands-on basis with individuals and teams as well as operating strategically with leadership teams. You will need strong business acumen, executive coaching skills, excellent communication skills, strategic thinking, and planning/project management skills. You must be able to balance competing priorities and conflicting opinions and facilitate the best decisions for employees and the business in an environment of ambiguity and rapid change.

Key job responsibilities

  • Strategic Partnership & Business Alignment
  • Develop and implement people plans and solutions to achieve organizational initiatives for the CSC organization
  • Partner with senior leaders and their leadership teams to develop talent strategies
  • Function as a consultant to key leaders; engage in strategic planning meetings to translate business needs into HR plans
  • Talent Management & Development
  • Lead Organization and Leadership Review (OLR) processes, focusing on succession planning, talent development, and organizational health
  • Coach and develop senior leaders on people management, leadership effectiveness, and organizational capabilities
  • Partner with AWS talent acquisition teams to maintain early career talent pipelines
  • Data-Driven HR Operations
  • Review and analyze business metrics including retention, employee experience, and organizational health data to recommend systemic improvements
  • Compensation & Performance Management
  • Support performance and compensation management processes and ensure fair, consistent application across the organization
  • Employee Relations & Experience
  • Work with managers and employees to address employee relations issues, fairly representing all interests
  • Drive initiatives that enhance employee engagement and organizational culture
  • Support change management initiatives and organizational transformations
  • Program Management & Special Projects
  • Own and drive goals and special projects for the CSC organization as needed
  • Collaborate with central HR teams and matrixed site and international HR colleagues on CSC people initiatives

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or above in Human Resources, Human Resources Management, Labor Relations, Business/Management, Psychology, or a related field
  • Experience hiring and managing a world class team of global sales professionals.
  • Experience in influencing senior leadership through data driven insights
  • Experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities, or experience in managing and troublshooting network
  • 7+ years of HR specialist, HR generalist (e.g., HR Business Partner or HR Partner), HR manager, or HR program experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in leadership work as an HR generalist, preferably in a high tech environment
  • Experience as an HR specialist, HR generalist (e.g., HR Business Partner or HR Partner), HR manager, or in HR program roles
  • Bachelor's degree, or experience coaching senior leaders and managers with strong talent assessment skills
  • Experience scaling an organization through rapid growth or expansion
  • Experience assessing management and executive talent
  • Experience leading organizational change initiatives across multiple locations
  • Experience analyzing HR data and translating metrics into actionable workforce strategies
  • PHR, GPHR, or SPHR, or 4+ years of HR experience
  • Experience in technical support, or experience working with customers with a passion for delivering exceptional service

    Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $117,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $193,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
