The Building Design and Engineering (BDE) team (ROW) is accountable for most efficient designs for APAC, India, MENA and LATAM. We are looking for exceptional individuals to join our team as subject matter expert in the field of Electrical Engineering within Amazon Fulfilment network. The ideal candidate will possess an electrical engineering background that enables him/her to undertake the challenges of designing and innovating to provide most effective solutions and a demonstrated ability to think broadly and strategically in aligning building design with the larger objectives of the business.

You’ll be a part of a diverse team of architects, mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, Project Managers, Risk Managers. You will interact with reliability and maintenance engineers (RME), security experts, operations managers, safety and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across Amazon Fulfilment Network to help us deliver the highest standards while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. As the Subject Matter Expert, you will design and uphold the Electrical Design standards for APAC region and support the RME team in operating and maintaining the electrical infrastructure following a process-oriented approach.

Key job responsibilities

  • Lead warehouse electrical designs in collaboration with MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) disciplines to create comprehensive, coordinated Building Design /construction document sets that integrate all building services
  • Well equipped with Electrical calculation (eg Load mapping , Fault level calculation , short circuit analysis, cable sizing etc.)
    Demonstrate proficiency in MEP services coordination
    Demonstrated ability to work with extended stakeholder teams
    Provide subject matter expertise in electrical distribution for electrical maintenance outages and deficiency correction plans
    Support annual budgeting cycles and planning
  • Develop and improve maintenance programs and policies for electrical systems at warehouse locations, including audits of existing programs in compliance with local codes and global standards
  • Integrate sustainability design principles into all electrical systems, including energy-efficient lighting solutions, renewable energy integration, power optimization strategies, and carbon footprint reduction measures
  • Participate in site selection reviews and collaborate with local utilities to understand and define site utility requirements and capacity
  • Ensure all designs comply with Australian electrical codes and standards, including AS/NZS 3000 (Wiring Rules), AS/NZS 3008 (Cable Selection), and other relevant Australian Standards and regulations
  • Work with regional vendors and manufacturers to specify appropriate electrical equipment that meets Australian compliance requirements and sustainability criteria
  • Collaborate with local agencies and authorities having jurisdiction to ensure full compliance with Australian electrical codes, building codes, and jurisdictional requirements
  • Review and approve equipment submittals with the ability to manage concurrent projects across multiple geographical regions
  • Define project scope and provide technical support for information requests during pre-construction and construction phases
  • Partner with Project/commissioning teams to properly test and validate the installation, operation, and performance of electrical systems, ensuring compliance with Australian standards
  • Travel to sites for design reviews, work with onsite field engineers, and provide engineering evaluations, electrical systems audits, and startup support as needed
  • Champion sustainable design practices and ensure environmental considerations are embedded throughout the electrical design process

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of technical product or program management experience
  • 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
  • Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
  • Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership
