The WHS Site Manager plays a critical role in enabling our Operations to deliver for our customers at the highest standards. We are looking for experienced leaders who want to be the one behind the Amazon smile.

The WHS Site Manager will be responsible for partnering strategically with Site and Regional Operations leadership to drive company policies and ensure compliance with all applicable local, regional, and federal regulations. By leveraging lean principles, kaizens, and data-driven insights, the WHS Site Manager will lead and influence continuous improvement initiatives to systematically eliminate conditional and ergonomic risk in our processes, ensuring a safe and healthful working environment for our Associates. A successful WHS Site Manager will demonstrate the ability to build trust and credibility across multiple stakeholder groups, develop and mentor WHS talent, and drive cultural change through comprehensive risk assessments, advanced data analysis, and scalable solutions that extend beyond the site level.

  • Key job responsibilities
  • Lead and ensure overall compliance with local requirements and authorities, proactively engaging with regulatory bodies and anticipating changes in legislation.
  • Provide strategic advice and guidance on Health and Safety matters to all stakeholders, influencing senior leadership decisions within the designated area of responsibility.
  • Provide management information, statistics, and actionable insights related to your area of responsibility, translating data into business recommendations.
  • Drive business change through effective change management processes, acting as a key enabler in a fast-paced and complex environment.
  • Lead Continuous Improvement Management with partners, develop and standardize SOPs, and ensure Amazon's requirements, guidelines, and policies are effectively communicated, executed, and sustained by partners — with a focus on scalable solutions.
  • Build and sustain strong working relationships with internal and external peers, fostering a culture of open communication and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Develop and oversee comprehensive plans for on-site emergencies, peak safety, cold/heat stress, special events, and other unique WHS situations, ensuring readiness across all scenarios.
  • Lead WHS data analysis, identify trends, and establish and track improvement plans with measurable outcomes.
  • Ensure WHS record-keeping and provide accurate reporting and metrics to support site and network-level WHS initiatives.
  • Consult and work with Legal on WHS regulations interpretations, investigations, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Develop and implement scalable solutions to eliminate exposure to identified and potential risks, prevent injury, and drive systemic improvements beyond the site level.
  • Maintain deep understanding of local/regional regulations and company policy, serving as a subject matter expert for the site and broader network.
  • Audit workplace organization and Associate behaviors, ensuring training, auditing, and scoring methods are accurate, consistent, and continuously improved.
  • Ensure site leadership and Associates are trained and accountable for their responsibilities under each policy, fostering ownership at all levels.
  • Partner with corporate and regional field WHS personnel to leverage, adapt, and contribute to global best practices.
  • Manage and develop the Internal Commission of Accident Prevention (CIPA) at the site, ensuring engagement and effectiveness.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications and the use of pivot tables and the development of charts and graphics
  • Experience in WHS or environmental programs in manufacturing, production, or service operations experience;
  • English Advanced.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience implementing lean principles and process improvement in an operational environment
  • Experience in Distribution Center or Manufacturing EHS with mix of exempt and non-exempt employees at a site of at least 250 people;
