External job description
Amazon is the most customer-centric company. Work hard. Have fun. Make history.
With this philosophy in mind, Amazon is committed to providing the highest level of service to our most engaged customers — including vendors, sellers, and beyond — encouraging them to grow their businesses on the Amazon platform. At Amazon, we expect no more and no less from you.
Since Amazon opened its virtual doors, our goal has always been to become the most customer-centric company in the world. How do we achieve this? By having people like you who ensure that customers can find everything they're looking for online — at great prices and with convenience.
Both Amazon and the vendors and sellers who list their products on our sites now offer millions of new and used items across a wide range of categories. Join a company that reinvents itself every day. Immerse yourself in a fast-paced, constantly expanding environment, continuously innovating new efficiencies and offering great opportunities for both our customers and you.
You will help Amazon create Earth's greatest shopping experience — a store offering more products, more brands, and more compelling content than any other online or offline store. This is an excellent platform to advance your career and demonstrate strategic leadership with Amazon.
As a Senior Account Manager, you are expected to be fluent in Japanese and preferably well-versed in Japanese business etiquette, as you will be directly supporting vendors in the JP retail market. You will serve directly with vendors and manage strategic aspects of their businesses on the Amazon platform. Through in-depth data analysis and market trend insights, you will assist vendors in developing practical and effective business strategies, driving business growth, and achieving revenue goals, while continuously optimizing key manufacturers' (vendors') overall performance on the Amazon platform.
Your core responsibilities will focus on strategic planning, day-to-day communication with vendors, strategy formulation, business reporting, and relationship maintenance, ensuring that vendor needs are promptly responded to, solutions are efficiently executed, and long-term stable cooperation is achieved. You will take ownership of complex vendor portfolios and drive innovation in vendor engagement strategies.
- Key job responsibilities
- Continuously monitor daily operational data, proactively identify potential risks, ensure the effective execution of strategies, and make timely adjustments as necessary to maintain smooth business operations. Develop predictive models and early warning systems to anticipate business challenges.
- Based on data, propose feasible optimization solutions to improve the vendor's performance in supply chain efficiency, traffic acquisition, conversion rates, etc., thereby driving overall sales growth. Lead cross-functional initiatives to implement scalable solutions that can be applied across multiple vendor accounts.
- Maintain frequent and high-quality communication with vendors, deeply understand their business needs and concerns, ensure issues are promptly responded to and effectively resolved, and build strong trust and collaborative relationships. Serve as a trusted strategic advisor to senior vendor stakeholders, influencing their long-term business planning.
- Provide regular professional and systematic business reports to vendors, clearly communicate goal progress based on quantifiable data, outline future strategic directions and key initiatives, and analyze the core reasons and business implications behind the data. Present insights and recommendations to senior leadership and contribute to organizational strategy discussions.
- Work with vendors to define and achieve business targets. Take ownership of portfolio-level P&L and drive year-over-year growth targets.
- Provide weekly reports to relevant internal teams to ensure transparency and promote cross-team collaboration. Lead regular business reviews with internal stakeholders and drive alignment across multiple teams.
- Collaborate closely with internal functional teams, actively coordinate resources, and secure necessary support to help vendors achieve sustainable business growth. Act as a bridge between vendors and internal teams, influencing product roadmaps and operational improvements based on vendor feedback and market insights.
- Identify and drive process improvement initiatives that enhance team efficiency and vendor satisfaction.
- Represent the team in cross-organizational projects and contribute to the development of new tools, processes, and strategies.
