We're expanding our engineering presence in Mexico and seeking exceptional Senior Software Development Engineers from across Latin America who are excited about relocating to Mexico.
International Relocation Support: This position is designed for engineers currently based in Latin America. We provide full visa sponsorship and comprehensive relocation support for you and your eligible dependents.
Amazon Device Software & Services team designs and engineers high-profile consumer electronics, including the best-selling Kindle family of products. We use our superpowers and passion for building the impossible to help launch the next generation of innovative devices like Fire tablets, Fire TV, Amazon Dash, Amazon Echo and the new Amazon Key (as well as a few more we can’t mention yet).

- Key job responsibilities
- Architect and deliver complex software systems that align with Amazon's engineering standards and business objectives
- Drive technical decisions and design reviews that impact multiple services or teams within the organization
- Lead development of critical features while mentoring junior engineers in technical best practices and engineering principles
- Establish and maintain robust monitoring, metrics, and operational excellence practices for high-availability systems
- Define and enforce code quality standards, testing strategies, and documentation requirements across projects
- Proactively identify and resolve complex technical challenges while implementing preventive measures
- Design and implement privacy-preserving features that protect customer data without compromising system functionality
- Participate in building high-performing teams through technical interviews and making data-driven hiring recommendations
Basic Qualifications
- 7+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 7+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
