Since launching the first Fire TV device in 2014, Amazon has been revolutionizing the way our customers interact with their TVs, thanks to voice integration and a content-first design. This role is a unique opportunity to work with the leading content providers to deliver best-in-class experiences across Amazon devices and services.

Our partners develop apps for Amazon devices such as streaming media players (e.g. Fire TV Stick), Smart TVs (e.g. Fire TV Edition) and Fire tablets across AOSP-based Fire OS and React-Native-based Vega OS. You will be a trusted expert in our technology solutions, supporting partners throughout the development journey: evangelizing, educating, and problem solving. As you advise on how to build world-class solutions and experiences, you will also focus on scalability by building reusable solutions, documenting best practices, and ideating on better ways to support our developers. You will work closely with our engineering teams to share first-hand feedback from developers, helping drive improvements and innovation. This position requires technical expertise, the ability to effectively communicate and evangelize, and a relentless commitment to long-term customer outcomes.

  • Develop unique, compelling, and exciting presentations and demonstrations of new Amazon technologies
  • Deliver persuasive, passionate, high impact, high quality presentations to senior decision makers

  • Build reference architecture, frameworks and toolkits to drive adoption at scale
  • Manage complex projects with significant impact

A day in the life
This role's daily responsibilities will typically fall into three areas. First, managing the technical relationship for strategic external content providers for Amazon devices including the Fire TV, Fire Tablet, and Echo Show. This can include onboarding, feature integration support, and guiding the technical roadmap and strategy. Secondly, you will act as the voice of our developer partners, requiring direct interactions with our product and engineering teams to help drive improvements and innovations. Lastly, this role will include up leveling the knowledge of our developer community by documenting best practices and creating development resources that can be used internally and externally.

About the team
The Content & App Partner Engagement team's mission is to delight customers by delivering best-in-class content and experiences across Amazon devices and services through third-party partnerships and developer support.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
  • 3+ years of customer-facing roles, evangelizing technologies and building/maintaining developer relations
  • Experience with React Native and/or other development languages or frameworks
  • Fluent Japanese, Business English

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience conveying complex technical concepts to both technical and business audiences
  • Experience influencing multiple stakeholders and leading cross functional teams across geographies and business units
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly
  • Experience developing and launching applications or custom user experiences, including new emerging technologies
