About the Role:

The Amazon Devices organization designs and engineers industry-leading consumer electronics that delight customers worldwide, including Kindle e-readers, Fire Tablets, Fire TV, and Echo devices. We are seeking an exceptional Software Quality Assurance Manager to join our Connectivity team and shape the future of wireless experiences across our product portfolio.

The Opportunity:

Connectivity capabilities—including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Smart Home protocols, and Cellular—form the foundation of every Amazon device experience. As a Software Quality Assurance Manager on the Amazon Connectivity team, you will drive world-class quality standards for the connectivity software that powers millions of devices today and enables transformative capabilities tomorrow.

What You'll Do:

In this role, you will lead a team of talented Quality Assurance Engineers and Software Development Engineers in Test (SDETs) to establish excellence in both quality strategy and execution. Your responsibilities will encompass:

Strategic Leadership:
Develop and drive comprehensive quality strategies that align with organizational objectives and product roadmaps
Define quality frameworks and methodologies that scale across multiple device platforms
Establish metrics-driven approaches to measure, monitor, and continuously improve software quality
Partner with cross-functional teams to integrate quality practices throughout the development lifecycle

Technical Excellence:
Architect world-class automation frameworks for regression testing, feature validation, and continuous integration
Demonstrate deep technical understanding of device software architecture, connectivity protocols, and system integration
Design sophisticated QA approaches that address the complexity of multi-platform environments
Oversee the development and execution of comprehensive test plans across functional, performance, and reliability domains

Team Development & Execution:

Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of quality professionals
Foster a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement
Take a hands-on approach to implementing quality strategies while empowering team autonomy
Monitor testing progress, identify risks proactively, and drive resolution of critical quality issues

What We're Looking For:

The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with proven leadership capabilities:
Extensive experience in software quality assurance with a track record of leading technical teams
Deep understanding of connectivity technologies (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, cellular protocols) and/or embedded systems
Demonstrated ability to develop both high-level quality strategies and execute tactical implementation
Proficiency in test automation frameworks, scripting languages, and modern QA tools
Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex technical information
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
Passion for building scalable processes and mentoring engineering talent

Basic Qualifications

• 5+ years of quality assurance teams management experience
• Experience identifying and reviewing test plans, test cases and testing results with a strong QA background
• Experience working closely with development and business teams to communicate problem impacts and to understand business requirements
• Experience driving technological and process innovation
• Experience preparing quality metrics and effectively engaging with stakeholders to set and drive quality goals
• BSEE, BSCS

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience transforming QA programs from manual to automation
• MS degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent
• 8+ years of hands-on experience and strong knowledge in two of the following technologies, WIFI, Bluetooth, Zigbee, Cellular/5G, Android platforms
