Just Walk Out is a revolutionary retail technology that enables a seamless, checkout-free shopping experience for customers. Designed and built by Amazonians, the Just Walk Out system allows shoppers to simply walk into a store, select the items they want, and walk out without having to wait in line or go through a traditional checkout process. The technology uses a combination of sensors, computer vision, and machine learning algorithms to automatically detect when products are taken from or returned to the shelves, and to charge customers' accounts accordingly. As a Software Development Engineer, you will help solve a variety of technical challenges and mentor other engineers. You will play an active role in translating business and functional requirements into concrete deliverables and build quick prototypes or proofs of concept in partnership with other technology leaders within the team. You will help invent new features, design, develop and deploy reliable distributed services. You will work with a variety of core languages and technologies including Java, python and AWS cloud stack.

Basic Qualifications

• 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
• Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
