Amazon's Legal Department is looking for a talented attorney to support Amazon Web Services, a dynamic and rapidly growing business within Amazon.com. Amazon Web Services is at the forefront of the cloud computing industry providing IT infrastructure services such as on-demand compute capacity, storage, content delivery, database services, and more.

This Corporate Counsel will primarily support AWS's Data Center Operations team, which is responsible for the operation, physical security, maintenance, and logistics of AWS data centers. The role involves working directly with business and other stakeholder teams to provide day-to-day counseling, contribute to projects, negotiate contracts, and address vendor issues. As counsel supporting a large international organization, this attorney must be adept at synthesizing legal requirements across many jurisdictions and providing risk-calibrated solutions. The role requires strong drafting skills and an ability to distill complex issues into concise and actionable guidance.

The successful candidate must be inquisitive, enthusiastic about technology, enjoy working hard and being continually challenged, and demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations. Compensation will be based on experience and includes equity compensation.

Basic Qualifications

• Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent
• U.S. citizenship
• 5+ years of legal practice as an attorney

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of IT infrastructure, outsourcing, telecommunications, cloud computing services or equivalent
• Experience in private practice or in house experience at a technology company or equivalent
• Experience working independently and collaborating effectively in a remote team environment

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
