The Procurement Manager for Waste Management Services at Amazon quick commerce premises, is responsible for leading strategic procurement initiatives focused on waste management operations across our facilities. This role requires a results-driven professional who can dive deep into operational challenges, demonstrate bias for action, and deliver measurable outcomes in sustainability and cost optimization.
Key job responsibilities
- Strategic Procurement & Vendor Management
- Lead end-to-end procurement processes for waste management services including collection, segregation, recycling, and disposal across Amazon quick commerce facilities and manage day to day escalations
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies to identify, evaluate, and onboard qualified waste management service providers
- Negotiate contracts and service level agreements ensuring optimal cost, quality, and compliance standards
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, waste management vendors and service providers
- Strong hold on compliance process and vendor evaluation processes
Operational Excellence & Results Delivery:

Drive measurable improvements in waste management efficiency, cost reduction targets, and sustainability metrics

Establish KPIs and performance dashboards to track vendor performance, waste diversion rates, and cost per unit metrics

Implement corrective action plans when performance gaps are identified, ensuring accountability and continuous improvement

Own monthly/quarterly business reviews with stakeholders to communicate progress against goals

Conduct comprehensive data analysis to identify root causes of waste generation, disposal inefficiencies, and cost variances

Perform detailed spend analysis and category assessments to uncover optimization opportunities

Review waste audit reports and operational data to surface insights and drive evidence-based decision making

Stay connected to operational details, visiting facilities to understand ground-level challenges and opportunities

Move quickly to implement solutions, recognizing that speed matters in achieving sustainability and operational goals

Design and execute pilot programs for new waste management technologies or service models

Develop standard operating procedures and quality review processes for waste management operations

Drive automation and digitization initiatives to improve process efficiency and data visibility

Partner with Operations, Facilities, Sustainability, Finance, and Legal teams to align waste management strategies with business objectives

Engage with environmental compliance teams to ensure adherence to local, state, and national waste management regulations

Collaborate with data analytics teams to build reporting tools and dashboards for waste management metrics

Manage escalations at site level and resolve from both the sides
About the team
The Procurement team drives efficiency across Amazon's e-commerce operations by collaborating with multiple stakeholders, identifying enhancement opportunities, and performing root cause analysis. Our team is committed to sustainable practices and operational excellence in procurement processes.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 4+ years of creating, defining, and implementing procurement strategy experience

- Master's degree
