We are expanding our Sub Same-Day network in Japan and need leaders in Program Management to drive scalable improvements across fulfillment centers, supply chain, and last-mile delivery. You will manage initiatives related to perishable/grocery integration at SSD sites and lead continuous improvement initiatives that directly impact customer delivery speed and reliability. This role offers the opportunity to join the growth of our rapidly expanding network and solve complex operational challenges in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Key job responsibilities
A successful candidate will lead programs, partnerships, innovations, and features to sustainably scale up our SSD Grocery capabilities, ensuring sustainable processes, best-in-class speed and exceptional Customer experience. You will lead Network planning and Capacity design projects working with cross-functional teams focused on the Network expansion that meet cost optimization and speed acceleration goals.
You will partner closely with multiple functional teams and stakeholder groups, including Supply Chain, Field execution, Tech teams, Transportation Network Planning, Retail Delivery Experience, Japan Consumer innovation, Fresh and Customer Service. The ability to influence without authority and execute with speed will be critical to success in this role.
The ideal candidate should possess:

  • A successful track record of managing complex programs and projects in logistics or related fields
  • Strong analytical and business acumen
  • Experience in managing multiple stakeholder teams simultaneously
  • Impactful communication skills
  • A demonstrated commitment to Amazon's Leadership Principles, particularly Ownership, Bias for Action, Insist on Highest Standards, Customer Obsession, and Think Big
    A day in the life
    We're seeking a self-starter who will take ownership of program and business challenges to identify existing gaps, driving strategy and execution of strategies to achieve SSD network goals at the right cost, while maintaining unparalleled customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute SSD-G excellence opportunities, set priorities, and communicate effectively across business partners and stakeholders
  • Build, define, and drive the execution of initiatives for Amazon's SSD network by partnering with stakeholder groups to offer best-in-class delivery speed and customer experience
  • Identify bottlenecks to enable best in class delivery experience in a cost effective way and work with relevant teams to remove them.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of program or project management experience
  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel at an advanced level, including: pivot tables, macros, index/match, vlookup, VBA, data links, etc.
  • Experience in Business English skills, both verbal and written
  • Bachelor's degree or above

Preferred Qualifications

  • Speak, write, and read fluently in Japanese
  • Experience working cross-functionally with tech and non-tech teams
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel (macros, pivots, lookups) at an advanced level
  • 4+ years of procurement, program management and supplier diversity & inclusion experience
