Are you a communications expert ready to shape how one of the world's most innovative technology companies tells its story across Latin America? Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a seasoned PR professional to lead communications (PR) strategy for the North of Latin America (NOLA) region, based in Colombia.
In this role, you will own the day-to-day media relations program for NOLA, driving proactive campaigns, managing issues, and building narratives that resonate with consumers, media, and other stakeholders. You will work autonomously and cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment, bringing a challenger mindset and a passion for storytelling that delivers measurable business impact and strengthens brand reputation.
We are looking for someone with deep knowledge of the NOLA (focused on Colombia and Peru) media landscape, a sharp editorial instinct, and the ability to translate complex technology topics into compelling stories. You will report directly to the Head of AWS Communications in Latin America and play a key role in growing AWS's presence across the region.
- Key job responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted communications advisor to senior business leaders across the NOLA region, providing strategic counsel on messaging, positioning, and reputational matters that support business objectives
- Lead day-to-day media relations program for NOLA, developing and executing proactive campaigns that drive brand awareness and business impact across key markets
- Build and nurture deep relationships with top-tier journalists, editors, and media influencers across the region, positioning AWS as a go-to source for technology and business stories
- Manage and guide external communications agencies, setting clear strategic direction, ensuring quality output, and holding partners accountable to measurable results
- Develop compelling narratives that translate complex cloud and technology topics into stories that resonate with regional audiences, consumers, and employees
- Collaborate with the broader AWS LATAM communications team to align regional efforts with global priorities and campaigns
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in media relations and issues management
- Excellent communication skills in both Spanish and English (verbal and written)
- Track record of managing corporate communications programs
- Experience executing integrated communications campaigns
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with cross-functional teams
- Experience managing external agencies
- Experience working in technology industry communications
- Strong stakeholder management capabilities
