The North America Sort Center (NASC) Material Flow Optimization (MFO) Team is seeking a proven technical leader with extensive experience leading people, projects, and programs by applying planning and engineering principles to operations and developing process improvement initiatives within the logistics and distribution industry. As an MFO Manager, you will lead a team of talented engineers and collaborate with multiple teams, including labor planning, operations, network planning, and service performance. You will design and improve our evolving middle mile network while challenging the status quo of existing operations. This position requires a firm understanding of engineering principles, planning, forecasting, cost estimating, and process flows, along with proven management skills in leading and developing others.

Key job responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to display your skills in the following areas:

  • Lead and develop a team of engineers
  • Design and implement floor layouts
  • Facilitate the setup and integration of new products, services, and operations within buildings
  • Apply engineering principles to develop processes and improve operations
  • Study operations to optimize and design new tools involving simulation and planning
  • Develop innovative design concepts to improve throughput, facility utilization, and labor optimization
  • Build strong, productive relationships across peer organizations that advance business objectives
  • Manage complex, quick-turn projects while demonstrating exceptional business judgment
  • Assess process improvement and transformation opportunities and partner with process owners and stakeholders to scope opportunities, define problem statements and objectives, and structure projects and teams
  • Train, coach, and mentor field Operations teams to empower them with leveraging operations tools and systems to meet daily business needs
  • Travel up to 40%

Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years of manufacturing or manufacturing engineering experience
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications at an advanced level

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement principles & techniques
  • Experience in complex work environments, including (but not limited to robotics, automation, diagnostic and test equipment)
  • Experience managing teams of 6 or more

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
