The Head of Business to Business Communications for Amazon Japan will use creative media engagements and impactful communications campaigns to highlight the products and services Amazon offers to business customers. This newly-created role is for an experienced communications leader to lead media relations and communications campaigns that support Advertising, Sellers, Furusato Nozei and more. This individual will build and execute successful strategic communications campaigns, build media relationships, and develop strong strategic partnerships with business leaders in support of common goals. Prior experience of B2B communications nationwide is preferred.
- Key job responsibilities
- Define, develop, and oversee end-to-end execution of communications programs spotlighting the services provided to business customers
- Manage reputational issues with internal stakeholders and members of the media
- Develop and strengthen relationships with trade and general media, in support of reputational and communications goals
- Work cross-functionally to plan and execute PR campaigns, in support of clear business goals
- Ideate and execute events, promotional activities and product and technology launches across Japan
- Manage complex, fast-moving, and unexpected communications challenges with high judgment and professionalism
- Work as an integral part of a high-performing team, both in Japan and internationally

About the team
The International Stores and Corporate Communications (ISCC) team drives Amazon's global communication strategy across our international marketplaces. We connect Amazon's vision, products, and services with customers, employees, and stakeholders worldwide through clear, consistent, and compelling messaging.
Our team combines deep regional expertise with global best practices to create localized communication strategies that resonate in diverse markets. We work cross-functionally with business leaders, product teams, and regional stakeholders to shape narratives that build trust, drive engagement, and support business growth in international markets.
Basic Qualifications
- 15+ years of professional communications, public relations, or public affairs experience
- Experience in Business English and Japanese skills, both verbal and written
- Background in developing strategic communications, for both proactive and issues use cases
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, leading through ambiguity and bringing high judgement
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience equally comfortable building strategic marketing plans and executing at a tactical level
- Experience managing multiple agencies and budgets
- Experience creating and delivering written and oral communications for technical and non-technical audiences
- Proven ability to thrive in an international team
