In this Role you will be supporting the daily creation and maintenance of the Bill of materials (BOMs) for new and sustaining Companion Devices and Accessories Projects into the Amazon Townsend system.

Key job responsibilities
The OPS will work daily with the core team to gather project information to build the configuration for the different component levels of the BOM. Keep the information up to date based on the different Engineering change requested ( ECOs) during the development of the product to the End of Manufacturing. The Operation Program Specialist change and maintain the production life cycle phase of the Product BOM, into the AMZ Townsend System.

A day in the life
This person will be supporting few key strategic Accessory project for Amazon Devices like BBC inbox and stand alone.
The OPS is an active collaborator of the core team that will engage with different subject matter experts like hardware, software, mechanical and packaging engineers to gather the documents that will form the BOM, as team are globally located it is a must to manage English well. The OPS in ComPAS also build the Sellable sku content information. This candidate will have experience working with different level of engineering, Contract mfg external partners, product manager, legal, planning, ID and marketing teams or mid size to T-Shirts size team to communicate using large email groups, conference tools and AI notes. This Role is not associated with Financial inputs/ Budget or Purchase orders, but he will be a contributor in the core team to suggest key information that define which teams required prototypes allocation or to identify any blocking documentation from External vendors or internal teams that create gaps or pending deliverables to complete specs, documents, drawing, files for artworks. This person will look for best accuracy on the documents to confirm the configuration elements in the product that Amazon will sell to our customer. He/She will understand the basic structure of a Bill of Material BOM. ( sub parts, sup assy, sellable sku) and the daily interaction with developers inside Amazon and external ODM partners.

This person if project required, will have the ability to travel 10-15% time as some projects team will need to manage country relocations.

About the team
Become par the Amazon Devices ComPAS team and be part of the group that launch a large variety of accessories and companion devices that enhance the user experience of our Alexa, Kindle, Tablets and Fire TV customers. You will be part of the Core team that interact with the lead designers, Contract Manufacturing partners and supporting logistic group to make possible to bring these production to our Online and Offline Amazon customers.

Basic Qualifications

  • 2+ years of program or project management experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • 2+ years of advanced Microsoft Word and Excel experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Lean principles and DMAIC methodology
  • Experience in MS Access and SQL
  • Experience in requirement gathering and ability to write clear and detailed requirement document
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel at an advanced level, including: pivot tables, macros, index/match, vlookup, VBA, data links, etc.
