The Alexa Business Telemetry & Decision Science team (B-Tel for short) builds telemetry to report and analyze how customers engage with Alexa and how engagement translates to value for the business. Our products include metrics definition and instrumentation, data products consumed by Alexa BI and analytics teams, and models that predict trends and identify drivers of business outcomes. As a Data Engineer, you will architect AI-powered data infrastructure that fuels both traditional analytics and next-generation GenAI applications, enabling our team to deliver insights at the intersection of voice AI and generative intelligence.

This role could be considered in either Gdańsk or Kraków.

As a total compensation company, Amazon's package may include further pay components such as a sign on payment and the eligibility to participate in a restricted stock unit scheme operated independently by Amazon.com Inc. in USA. Your recruiting team will share final base pay and any applicable total compensation elements depending on skills and requirements.

Key job responsibilities
As a Data Engineer on the B-Tel team, you will:

  • Architect innovative data ingestion solutions for high-impact business projects using advanced AWS technologies
  • Partner with BI Engineers and Data Scientists, also across time zones, to enable breakthrough analytics and machine learning capabilities
  • Drive automation initiatives that eliminate manual processes and scale data operations globally

A day in the life
In a typical day, you might architect new data pipelines for breakthrough Alexa analytics, like customer engagement tracking or subscription conversion modeling. You could implement data validation systems, design infrastructure to support Alexa's conversational AI improvements, or build automated pipeline generation tools to accelerate development cycles. You'll collaborate with stakeholders to understand technical requirements, explore AWS services for optimal performance, prototype scalable solutions for peer review, and implement robust ETL infrastructure that powers insights across Alexa's global operations. You'll work independently to design innovative solutions, assess business impact, and deliver technical excellence through comprehensive documentation.
