We're seeking a talented Software Development Engineer to help build the next generation of procurement applications from the ground up. About This Role:
As a Software Development Engineer in the Global Corporate Procurement (GCP) Tech team, you'll be instrumental in building modern, cloud-native applications that transform Amazon's procurement systems. You'll work on a greenfield initiative to create innovative solutions that make procurement faster, smarter, and more intuitive for Amazonians worldwide.
This role offers the unique opportunity to develop systems from the ground up, leveraging AWS technologies, modern development practices, and AI/ML capabilities. You'll collaborate with experienced engineers and cross-functional partners to deliver solutions that will eventually serve Amazon's global workforce.
What You'll Do:
You'll design, develop, and deploy scalable software solutions that power Amazon's procurement ecosystem. Working in an agile environment, you'll take ownership of features from conception through production deployment, contributing to technical decisions alongside experienced engineers.
Your work will directly impact the daily experience of Amazonians as they procure goods and services. Through collaboration with product managers, UX designers, and fellow engineers, you'll translate complex business requirements into elegant technical solutions.
Key job responsibilities
Collaborate with engineering teams, product managers, and UX designers to build technology solutions for Amazon's procurement space

Work backwards from the customer and collaborate with Product and Design to iterate on the best possible user experience

Follow software engineering best practices including writing tests, participating in code reviews, and documenting your work

Actively engage in defect resolution by identifying root causes and delivering comprehensive solutions
About the team
You'll join a focused engineering team within Global Corporate Procurement (GCP) Tech, part of the Finance Automation organization. Our team is building modern, cloud-native solutions from the ground up to transform Amazon's procurement systems.
We're a collaborative group of software development engineers who combine deep technical expertise with a passion for solving complex problems at scale. Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
