The Starbucks Manager ensures success by leading a team to create and maintain the Starbucks experience for our guests and team members. He/She is required to regularly and customarily exercise discretion in managing the overall operation of the location. In particular, a majority of time is spent supervising and directing the workforce, making staffing decisions (i.e., hiring, training, evaluating, disciplining, discharging, staffing and scheduling), ensuring guest satisfaction and product quality, managing the store's financial performance, and managing safety and security within the store. He/She is responsible for modeling and acting in accordance with Starbucks and The United Family guiding principles.
Key Responsibilities:

When a guest enters my area or department, my first and most important responsibility becomes to acknowledge, greet, and engage that guest

Demonstrate a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events and manage smooth transitions thereafter to keep store operating to standard and to set a positive example for the store team

Drive the implementation of company programs by developing action plans and directly motivating and instructing the store team to implement them to meet operational and organizational objectives

Plan, identify, communicate, and delegate appropriate responsibilities and practices to team members to ensure smooth flow of operations

Constantly review location environment and key business indicators to identify problems, concerns, and opportunities for improvement to provide coaching and direction to the store team to achieve operational goals

Utilize existing tools to identify and prioritize communications and regularly use discretion to filter communications to the store team; communicate clearly, concisely and accurately in order to ensure effective store operations

Utilize and demonstrate effective management principles and practices to create and maintain a successful store team resulting in an environment where guests are valued and respected

Ensure team members and partners adhere to legal and operational compliance requirements

Perform other duties as requested or required by management
Key Requirements:

Must be 18 years of age or older
-
High School Diploma or equivalent
-
Minimum of 1 year of management/supervisor experience
-
Ability to manage store operations independently
-
Ability to manage resources to ensure that established service levels are achieved at all times
-
Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. and stand for long periods of time (up to 4 hours).

Perform all other physical aspects of the job including bending, squatting, lifting, climbing, and walking
-
Must be able to work in a fast, efficient and controlled manner
-
Must maintain Certified Food Safety Manager certification
-
Strong leadership skills, with the ability to coach and mentor others
-
Strong organizational and planning skills
-
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
-
Ability to function as a team member and get along with others
