GROCERY CLERK

Main responsibilities:

• Maintain a friendly, customer-focused environment and provide fast, courteous service.

• Assist customers with product suggestions and inquiries.

• Build and maintain grocery displays; rotate and remove outdated products.

• Ensure shelves are clean, stocked, and properly priced.

• Follow company standards for merchandising and promotional displays.

• Perform receiving duties: break down loads, verify invoices, inspect quality, and stock products.

• Maintain accurate records and complete required paperwork.

• Ensure compliance with temperature, labeling, and safety regulations.

• Keep work areas clean and organized; adhere to sanitation standards.

We are looking for candidates who possess the following:

Soft skills:

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Customer service orientation with a friendly and professional demeanor.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Competencies:

• Attention to detail and accuracy in handling products and paperwork.

• Time management and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

• Problem-solving skills for inventory and customer issues.

Knowledge:

• Basic math skills and understanding of weights and measures.

• Knowledge of product variety, perishability, and handling standards.

• Familiarity with company policies and safety procedures.

Abilities:

• Ability to lift and maneuver items up to 50 lbs.

• Stand for long periods; bend, stoop, and reach frequently.

• Operate equipment such as pallet jacks, hand trucks, and electronic ordering devices.

Educational requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Travel requirements:

• Occasional travel may be required.

Other requirements:

• Good attendance and flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

• Compliance with grooming and dress code standards.
