In order to support the Quality department, Airbus Operations GmbH is looking for a VIE (d/f/m) within Germany Quality Conformance & Business Support Associate. What is a VIE?

The Volunteer for International Experience (VIE) program is an international program sponsored by the French Ministry of Economy, Finance and Employment, open to Airbus to offer young professionals the opportunity to have valuable paid work experience abroad in a technical or business function.

We are looking for highly motivated graduates aged 18 to 28 years, who are citizens of the European Union (all E.U. nationals, plus Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein). Candidates meeting these criteria and interested in a VIE, please register before your 28th birthday on the website www.civiweb.com.

The contract duration of VIE is between 6 to 24 months.

The Opportunity

A VIE for a Quality Conformance & Business Support Associate has arisen within Airbus (Commercial Aircraft) / Satair in Hamburg within the Quality department. Join the heart of aerospace excellence. You will support the Head of Quality for Satair and Airbus Material Services, a global organization of nearly 200 professionals dedicated to ensuring the highest standards of safety, reliability, and customer satisfaction in the aviation aftermarket.

As a VIE, you won't just be an observer; you will be the "right hand" to the leadership team, gaining a 360-degree view of how Quality drives business success in a world-leading aerospace ecosystem.

Your working student position is at Satair (subsidiary of Airbus) in Hamburg Fuhlsbüttel.

Your Tasks and Responsibilities

Your mission is threefold: to amplify our voice, sharpen our insights, and solve complex challenges.

Communication & Change Management:

  • Craft and coordinate high-impact weekly reports and management briefings
  • Design and execute internal communication strategies to promote a "Quality First" culture across the company
  • Organize global team events and workshops to foster engagement and alignment

Data Analytics & Digitalization:

  • Leverage the Skywise platform to extract, transform, and visualize data
  • Develop small-scale programming solutions or dashboards to automate reporting and provide real-time insights into quality KPIs
  • Translate complex datasets into actionable recommendations for the management team

Problem Solving & Quality Engineering:

  • Take the lead on cross-functional problem-solving projects, as assigned
  • Apply structured methodologies (such as 8D, 9S, and FMEA) to identify root causes and implement robust preventive actions
  • Support the team in maintaining and improving quality standards across logistics and material services

This role could involve limited travel for business few times/years in Europe and as such you must be able to travel accordingly.

Desired Skills and Qualifications

  • Educated to degree level (or equivalent) in Aerospace Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Quality Management, or a related discipline
  • 1-3 years of experience in supply chain/logistics, communication or quality management (apprenticeships and internships included)
  • Proficiency in data analysis and a keen interest in programming
  • Familiarity with Quality tools (8D, FMEA, Ishikawa) is highly preferred

In addition you are capable to demonstrate the following skills:

  • Autonomy: You are a self-starter who can navigate ambiguity and deliver results with minimal supervision
  • Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English. Additional languages (e.g. French, German) are considered a plus
  • Analytical Mindset: You can "zoom out" to see the big picture and "zoom in" to find the technical root cause
  • Team Spirit: A collaborative mindset with the ability to build relationships across different cultures and time zones
