Job Description:
A vacancy for Microwave Instruments Array Antennas Development Engineer has arisen within the Microwave Instrument Engineering department (TSEOM6) based in Airbus Defence and Space in Getafe (Madrid).
The postholder will be responsible for the development (design, drawing generation, purchase management, manufacturing and verification tracking and RF testing) of array antennas for microwave instruments of current and future Earth Observation space missions.
In particular the candidate will be engaged to the one or several of the current running programs in Airbus Defence and Space.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
In particular, the postholder duties will include:

Definition of the configuration of the array antenna under design
-
Design of the different circuits of the array
-
Implementation of the circuits in drawings using AUTOCAD software
-
Definition of samples and prototypes to validate the global design
-
Management of the procurement of the elements of the subarray (circuits, spaces, connectors, cables, etc) including generation of the purchase requisitions and their reception.
-
Definition of the assembly steps, in agreement with Manufacturing Engineering and Electronic Assemblies Production.
-
Definition of manufacturing processes applicable to subarrays.
-
Follow up of the assembly activities.
-
Definition of the subarray verification plan (dimensional, RF, contribution to mechanical, thermal)
-
RF testing of the subarrays, both in test bench (S-parameters) and in RF chamber (radiation patterns, intermodulation products), including results reports.

Coding of electrical components present in the subarrays.
-
Ability to manage the interface with customers and suppliers
SKILLS:
We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience
-
Educated to degree level in electric / electronic / RF engineering or physics
-
5-10 years of experience in antennas and remote sensing microwave instruments development
-
Languages
Spanish: Fluent in Spanish would be valued as a plus
-
English: must be at negotiation level, written and spoken
-
Strong knowledge of array antennas design and analysis
-
Deep knowledge of AUTOCAD
-
Knowledge of RF Electromagnetic Analysis SW (CST, HFSS or similar)
-
Knowledge of ESA program phases and development cycles
-
Knowledge of space systems, active and passive antennas, RF engineering and standard electrical interfaces
-
Experience on RF measurements using specific RF equipment (network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, antenna patterns testing, intermodulation products)
-
Experience on the definition of a verification and validation campaigns
-
Able to effectively work within small teams as well as working autonomously
-
Able to work in one or more projects managing the workload
-
Experience in working in project and/or team environment is desirable
-
International experience is considered an asset
-
Knowledge of industry standards and best practices for satellite development and testing, such as ECSS, MIL-STD, and CCSDS.
