RESPONSABILITIES

Within the Procurement, Supply Chain and Logistics organization, the Propulsion Commodity is responsible for the strategic procurement of Propulsion solutions and engine products across Airbus Defence and Space business. Supported by a global world-class supplier base, the Propulsion Commodity delivers a variety of applications ranging from Military Aircrafts, Unmaned Aerial Vehicles to Satellites and Exploration Spacecrafts.

A position as a Commodity Manager for Aircraft Engines and Propellers has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space in Getafe (Madrid). The successful applicant will join the Propulsion Commodity department to be in charge of the portfolio of buy products and suppliers for Small engines and Propellers.

In his/her role, the successful applicant will be accountable for the whole Procurement process, ensuring consitency and compliance accross all the sourcing and contracting actions of the commodity. He/She will be responsible to develop and implement commodity strategies to secure short and long term competitiveness and performance, supported by the Multi Functional Team (MFT). The Commodity Management activities will focus on:

• Implementing Procurement Policy and processes,

• Performing market analysis,

• Managing Call for Tender events and contract negotiations until signature,

• Monitoring and improving supplier performance with the support of the MFT,

• Creating value and competitiveness for the Company,

• Implementing commodity risk management,

• Sustaining long term relationship with suppliers.

SKILLS

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

• Master degree in engineering or business

• 5+ years experience in industry

• Demonstrated experience in negotiation

• Experience of Project management and/or working in Multi-Functional Team would be a plus

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

• Active listening and pro-active approach to problem solving

• Able to acquire responsibilities and take ownership of his/her scope

• Team spirit, autonomous and willingness to take challenges

• Advanced level in English: negotiation

• Spanish or German would be an asset
